the way Campbell played last few games he could be rested … althrough perhaps their hoping the international weekend will kick in and he will get the rest then … but he been very poor last few games and he needs to be better tomorrow if we are going to get anything from the game0

Another important game, a win will put us in a strong position for the play offs1
-
I was in London for the Crawley game last November.....prob one of the worst performances I have seen from a CAFC side.....hoping we fare better tomorrow....6
-
I reckon we could see 3/4 changes tomorrow with the likes of Jones / TC on the bench if needed for the last 30.
Would hope we've got enough to get past Crawley but wouldn't be surprised to see NJ roll the dice in this one and risk it
Some massive games still to play
0-2 Godden and Berry0 -

Wonder about Leaburn playing in place of Campbell or Small to give them a rest with Godden back in the side.
Not sure why Gilbert has been protected but he must get some minutes tomorrow as need him on the pitch.4 -

Quietly confident. They don't seem to be having trouble scoring lately, just can't keep keep even more out. Back line will still have to be on the case from the get-go, but I can see us doing 2 or 3.
3-1 to the Charlton0 -

Just have a bad feeling about this one.5

Unimaginable to think how good we have been since we last played them, not one person could have predicted the points return with confidence.
I'm hoping the players remember that humiliating defeat and rectify it.
An absolute must win to keep pace. These aren't a very good side, their results will tell you that.
I'm a bit concerned with the lack of creativity, but I'm still fairly confident, I'll say 3-1 Charlton.
Can't wait, see you all there. 👍🏻6 -
As I just finally found my ticket screwed up in a coat pocket, I’d strongly advice not leaving it to the last minute tomorrow before looking for yours!8

Still looking for one spare🥲 Can collect from the ground if necessary.0

I think this is the ideal game to get Dixon involved.2

Too many people counting our game in hand as a given 3 points & looking at us being in 4th place at 10pm.
I think we'll be undone by a combination of ex's.......Barker & Woolacott on the pitch and Rob Elliott off it.
Add into the mix the fact my son's going & he's not seen us win away since Pompey away on NYD 2023.
And in great CAFC traditions we like to throw games away that we should win comfortably. Throw being the operative word when considering our home defeat against Swindon in 2000 when we had just gone 13 games unbeaten.
1-0. Edwards OG - 20 yard screamer akin to J Tolmie of Carlisle fame in 1985.7 -
Comfortable away win 0-4
All of you lot getting nervous about Charlton are letting the scar tissue get you down. This is the new Charlton that’s already got 16 clean sheets from 35 games this season. We don’t roll over for anyone anymore.9 -
Crawley’s home results in 2025:
18/1: Burton 1-1 D
1/2: Wrexham 1-2 L
11/2: Stevenage 3-1 W
15/2: Wycombe 1-1 D
18/2: Wigan 1-1 D
1/3: Cambridge 0-2 L
8/3: Reading 1-1 D2 -
Point of order in the opening post about the referee: if he was an assistant in the 4-4 draw with Ipswich then surely he has "officiated" a Charlton match before? He may not have taken charge, but if he was one of the officials then he would have officiated.
(Apologies for the pedantry. )7 -
0-1 Charlton I reckon.0

I'd be tempted to start Gilbert, to give Berry a rest and also this is a game where we should be on the front foot and his extra attacking quality could be useful to get us off to a fast start. Also Godden for Leaburn. As Callum said, no need to fear this one - this team is different gravy compared to other Charlton sides in recent years.0

This is a potential banana skin but I think the fact that they beat us at the Valley in December may help us. We certainly won't be taking them lightly.2

Interesting to see their home results of 2025, I had thought they had a very leaky defence. To an extent that is true as no clean sheets, but they have only let in 9 in 7 so no where near as leaky as I thought.
2-1 Charlton. L Jones and TC.1 -

His time will come but I think its more likely next season than this.7 -

I really hope I still ‘own this package’ for the game tomorrow, but I can’t be sure I won’t have to pay again.1 -

I believe Dixon will be involved in that.
Theoretically the U21 team news will be published at 6pm and we will know more then.
There is a danger that the weight of expectation on Dixon when he first plays a league game will be crushing.
I really like him, but don’t think he is quite ready yet.2 -
Here's the thing...
We are currently on a fantastic run, that has seen us climb from mid-table to having a real chance of the play-offs.
If we were still in mid-table, sure, experiment a little. See if Dixon can cut it in the league. See what Gilbert can do with 90 minutes under his belt. But what if NJ makes the decision to experiment, and we lose? Would those same fans asking for changes, then clamour for NJ's head, for risking our chances of promotion?
IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!!11 -
With Sport science and Analyst data then every sprint and yard covered is monitored from every match.
If Berry who gets into some great positions in the box but can't convert and emulate that brace from earlier in the season then in my and hopefully Nathan's opinion a player like Gilbert will play at least the 2nd half as despite the effort Berry puts in I can see it wilting, if not broke and fatigue will halt our progression if the workload isn't shared from HT or early in the 2nd half.
I want to see the fitness of Kanu being involved from the bench as well as he is fresh and quick off the mark.

Like others have said, I hope Godden starts. I thought Leaburn offered nothing on Saturday, albeit against a physical team.2
