  • I'm told told that Cambs tickets are sold out, and Wycombe tickets have almost all gone A friend called the ticket office late this p.m. and just managed to get me a Wycombe ticket, I don't have enough points to have had any chance otherwise. I am not going to Cambs
Tickets for both games are available online although only terracing tickets left for Cambridge.

I'm afraid I find that very hard to believe in fact I don't believe it.
Which part don't you believe ?

There are only a small number of seats for away fans now, most of the away places are terracing

I’ve just bought both so that’s not true. I don’t think there are enough fans in the top 2 buckets to sell out either game (and if there were that would be really poor from the club)

as I said, that was what I was told, Cambridge sold out (presumably seats) and Wycombe nearly so

Why would it be poor from the club?

Those with the most points would have the tickets, it makes no difference.

Is there a limit on the number of tickets a 'high points/Valley Golder' can buy ?

  • I'm regularly in the 3rd or 4th tier for eligibility, and there are usually plenty of tickets available when I enter, so I'd be really surprised if the Cambridge tickets have gone that quickly.

The most loyal fans should be guaranteed a ticket in their window. I believe the club do this well, so they adjust the number of points required depending on the allocation. If they had sold out tonight then in my opinion that would be poor from the club, as it would show they should have set the number of points higher
  • Well our group has just bought 6 terrace for Cambridge, so it’s not sold out.

I reckon the fact that we are doing so well coming towards season's end and the 'short journeys' to Cambs and Wycombe mean that there is a big demand for tickets, specially as Cambs is such a small ground.
I am dependant on friends to get my tickets for the 'big games' as I have so few points.
Bit of a Catch 22, the more tickets are bought for me, the less points I accrue

But the tickets still would have gone to the exact same people.
  • Until I read this I didn't even realise Wycombe was already on sale.

Email the club mate, they were very good when sorting mine out. If you have created an account for each of them it should be pretty straight forward. They will link the account then you should just have to click on the forgot password link.

Thanks. I managed to get into my lads account through his Con number.  Annoyingly he has 30 points less than me where I have bought but not allocated, my fault.  Means I will have to wait to Thursday to see if any left, or pick my favourite child and only buy 2 tomorrow!

Well no, if the points were raised to 700 then the bottom end of that bucket would not be able to get any. If the tickets had sold out tonight then someone on 640 points could have got a ticket before someone on 800 had even seen they were on sale. That to me would be an unfair system

As I said I think the club already do this, they make sure there are enough tickets for the first 2 buckets to be guaranteed. That’s why Cambridge starts at 640 and Wycombe starts at 600 as it’s a slightly bigger allocation

There were 3 phases today though, so those on 640 would have still got them and people that are going to miss out would still have missed out.

It’s not raised to 700 because there is probably so few people with that many that it’s likely pointless.

Anyway, all irrelevant as there’s still tickets available going into phase 4 tomorrow morning.

    The ‘it’ part…
  • I’m maxed out on away points and I’m also VG - so I have tickets bought today for Cambridge and Wycombe - 2 for Cambridge (my mate’s son) and one for Wycombe (looks like I am on my own mates wise for that match)

However I do accept that CAFC away ticket arrangements need a review - I do around 80% (maybe more) away matches, so I am not (obviously) seeking anything that harms me - but I do understand some of the frustration above

However, in terms of Cambridge - what on earth are Cambridge thinking of - all recent matches there we have had the whole ‘stand’ behind the goal - and sold it out - as we would do this season - its a fab away day pubs wise (shit ground) - they are not going to make as much money as they could, by denying us the end ‘stand’ - and they are going down, so any £££’s surely welcome

    Just weird

club will update the website at some point tomorrow
  • The England Supporters Travel club have just implemented a great tool which shows how many members are on each level of cap, and how many caps you need to be guaranteed a ticket for a certain allocation.

It works be great if Charlton could do similar, if only to stop all the panic on this forum every time we play someone localish.

    Just weird

Cambridge United are pleased to announce that the Mead Plant & Grab South Stand will become the Club’s designated home family stand from the 2024/25 season...

Over the past few seasons, the Club has placed significant focus on growing its home supporter base through improving the matchday experience and engaging with underrepresented groups within the community.

This has resulted in the average attendance at the Cledara Abbey Stadium increasing by over 57% since the Club were promoted to EFL League One three seasons ago, with occupancy in home areas of the stadium this season exceeding an average of 90%.

The Club recognises that to increase the supporter base further, it needs to create additional seating and improve the levels of matchday experience available to home supporters and therefore, it has taken the strategic decision to make the Mead South Stand the designated home family stand from the 2024/25 season. Family seating in Blocks A and G of the Main Stand will still be available.

We are Charlton not Man U, i don't think we'd ever sell out an away game in 1 day.

Cambridge i've no doubt is well on the way to selling out but Wycombe is just over 1800 tickets, there's no way at all they have 'almost gone'.
