According to this journalist for the 'Peterborough Telegraph' we rely on 'hoofball and the tedium of long throws'. Presume he wasn't at the Valley on Saturday, or seen much of us play in the last half of the season...14 -

First home game I've missed this season. Maybe I should stay away more often.2

We rely on good players trying very hard and playing well.1

Saturday was prime "hoofball":
- Tiny Tel hoofing the ball into the middle of the box for Godden to hoof the ball into the back of the net with his head ...
- TC hoofing the ball twice inside the far post ...
- Dochers hoofing the ball off the bar.
- countless other instances of defenders hoofing the ball amongst themselves before hoofing it 10 yards forward to a midfielder to hoof inside the full back to TC or Small flying down the wing or splitting the central defenders for Godden, Chuks or Dicko to run onto.
It was the most enjoyable hoofball I've watched for some time.10 - Sponsored links:

Jones, Campbell and Small make the L1 team of the week.

I've just finished watching the full Charlton TV broadcast from Saturday.
Apart from being a very enjoyable game of hoofball (and seeing bits that I missed at the time due to either eyes being too bad or I was busy posting crap on the Match Thread) the half-time chat between @KillersBeard and Martin Pringle was wonderful. (The pre-game piece with Martin Tyler was good too!)
It's such a shame that we don't have the old-style Charlton TV presentation any more because it would have been good to have been able to see it instead of whatever replays/highlights/stats Sky/Football League wanted to roll with at HT.3 -

If we don't make the second spot, I hope to fu*k that Wycombe rub Bloody Wrecks-some's noses in it and take second spot, coz I am really lookin' forward to knockin' that stupid smug grin from those two non superstars of Hollywood's faces at Wembley...😫2

I just have a small problem with my seat being on the back row of the top deck of the Cupboard End and trying to go between watching the action on the pitch and then looking back down to my phone to type means I miss things and details because my eyes aren't looking through the right part of my varifocals so they're a bit blurry!1 -
I wouldn't watch from the cupboard end. It's full of mugs.4

Was almost pitchside for the game and Anderson made a couple of crunching tackles when he came on….also fluffed a corner but hey that’s what you get…if he can improve technically he is going to be a good player0

Without doubt our best and most complete performance of the season. It's hard to see this team not getting in the playoffs and I think our position could be cemented after the next four games. I'm not going to bother with standout players as it would be the majority of the team!
One moan, and thankfully it's nothing on the pitch. How bad is the food and drink service these days? I was in the AC stand with some friends & their kids and we headed out before the HT whistle to get some bits. I didn't return to my seat until five minutes after the restart missing TC's second goal. Luckily I'd sent everyone else back in to watch the match while I waited as I wanted my mates to get a decent experience but it was 25 mins in total from starting to queue to getting served. For me having a beer and some food is part of the match day experience but with waiting times like that and the current standard of the grub it's something I'm not going to bother with anymore. I know what happens on the pitch is most important but the club really need to get these other things right to enhance the match day experience for new fans and also us fans that have been going for years.6 -
Hudderfield's version of Charlton Live. Was interesting to hear their take on the game.

But what a miserable bunch. Must be nailed on for relegation this season going by some of those misery filled comments.1 -

I can only say what I see and Karoy Zidane Lovebourne Anderson has been training with CAFC since he was 9 years old so would've been kicking a football most days after school and during school holidays with professional coaching.
Karoy who is a religious lad which has helped him to be dedicated and grounded while most of his peer group has dropped out of the hard job of being a full time pro.
I see a fantastic athlete with an excellent engine which is why his has over 50 apps for CAFC at 20 years old.
What I can't witness at the moment is technical ability on the ball despite his ability to negate and close down the ball with stamina in abundance.
I had the fortune over a couple of seasons to see many talented young Midfielders at an independent Football academy and many of them had more skill when in possession of the ball BUT most didn't/couldn't do the hard yards demanded by the coaches when out of possession.
I would hope Karoy Anderson, similar to his quiet college TC stays behind some afternoon in practicing his ball skills because if his touch can improve he can be a fine midfielder but I personally haven't seen that skill come to fruition YET.
At the moment he reminds me of George Lapslie, once of this Parish and at 27 is now at Bradford with a fresh 2 1/2 year contract after moving from Gillingham.
Doing well in league 2 and another player who by being dedicated and who has added the odd goal to his great stamina and ability to cover every blade of grass which makes up for any short comings on the ball.
So many of the ballers I saw who are now playing semi pro at 20ish would love to swop places with Karoy or George.
