Important, as that was Mansfield’s principal tactic RAMSAY: 6.5 - not his best game but still found time to drive forward past the opposition on occasions McINTYRE:7.5 - a very sound debut which helped steady our nerves in the absence of Lloyd Jones. We nevertheless miss Lloyd’s vocal leadership at the back GILLESPHEY: 7 - sound SMALL: 6 - a couple of good moments but he gave the ball away once or twice in dangerous areas COVENTRY: 7 - moved the ball well BERRY: 6 - unable to make much of an impact on what was a relatively scrappy game, with a lot of long balls DOCHERTY: 6 - worked hard but was unable to get a grip on the game EDWARDS: 7 - tough, fast and impressive GODDEN: 7 - some lovely flicks and a customary cool finish CAMPBELL: 8: MoTM - he ultimately made the difference, as the best players so often do Referee: 6.5 - good generally but failed to play the advantage on a couple of occasions
