Best & Worst

Nice article with @PaddyP17 in this month's FourFourTwo.

  • Didn't realise this mag was still going. Pretty sure I remember when it first come out
  • Some terrific answers there! I love "like a crisp packet on a warm summer breeze".

But, did you really mean lecherous, as opposed to leech-like?
  • Wasn't Frayeye in a laundry basket at Colchester rather than Huddersfield?
  • Great answers Paddy, poor Simon Francis though!
  • Editing mistakes lie with them lot. @JohnnyH2 thought it was a combination of both results?
  • Just watched the Sanogo hattrick on museum web site. Not as bad as all that but the one thing that stands out from that match was Yann.

I hope on that day Meire realised what an absolute out of depth cretin she was.
  • Great article Paddy.

Interesting to hear of other’s responses to the best and worst?
  • That Worst Charlton XI is pretty spot on. I'm glad McLeod got a look in - he really was absolutely absymal.

  • For the best season, it would have to be the "Championship" title of 1999/2000, as a bigger achievement than winning L1, however great that was.

We got 91 points that season.

In fairness I was 5/6 at the time, so the later one - as seasons go, rather than individual players and the like - has stuck in my memory a bit more!

I'm waiting for someone to reprimand me for not choosing 46/47 as the best season  :D

I don't mind Mendonca, and Yann is a legend, but surely the best striker HAS to be Darren Bent?

Darren Bent's not visiting us tomorrow! I could drop Parker, bring in Bent and put Kermogant just behind the front two.

You don't MIND Mendonca??? thats very generous of you!

Yes, it was more in answer to someone saying our best two strikers were Mendoncs and Kermogant.

Picking Mendonca is fine. He was one of our best strikers ever, and did it in the top tier.

But Darren Bent, at one time, was the top scoring English striker in the Premier League, and MUST be in our best ever team...
