Yeah Kyprianou is going to Watford, someone stuck the announcement photos of him at Vicarage Road online on Friday.

Poku I suspect will end up going top half of the champ.

Right now I think if we stay in League 1, we'll look to replace or upgrade 3 positions on the pitch, and that is GK, RWB and CAM, with another 4 signings across the squad to help strengthen the overall depth.

If we go up, that number for me jumps to 6, with ST, LCB and CM added to the list of first XI upgrades, and the respective players in those positions becoming squad options, and the previous squad options either loaned out or moved on.

    League 1
    NEW GK
    Ramsay Jones GIllesphey
    NEW RWB Docherty Coventry Edwards
    NEW CAM
    Godden Campbell

Mannion, Mitchell, Mitchell, Asiimwe, Anderson, Leaburn, Kanu

    Championship
    NEW GK
    Ramsay Jones NEW LCB
NEW RWB NEW CM Coventry Edwards
    NEW CAM
    Godden NEW ST

Mannion, Mitchell, GIllesphey, Docherty, Berry, Campbell, Leaburn

    Hope that makes sense!
We need someone to compete hard with Docherty if we are in league one and replace him if we go up.

Yeah those two are gone, if the rumours are right, Poku will be at Birmingham City which makes sense.

Mothersille the only realistic one of the 3 if we go up, and I've heard bad things about him attitude wise, could be another Marcus Maddison, big fish in a small pond etc. Hard to ignore his stats though.

45 apps, 12 goals and 9 assists from the wings, and only 21.

Ex- Chelsea academy, 6'2. Wouldn't be too upset if he ended up here.

O's rejected 1 million from Swansea in January. Apparently a lot of eyes on him atm, and I'm not too surprised as he's their best player.

I reckon he's easily going to go for 2-3 million. 6 goals and 6 assists from central midfield.

Very concerned about him at the weekend, keep him and Kelman quiet and we've got it in the bag imo. All eyes on Lloydy and Coventry/Docherty to keep those two quiet.

Out of contract this summer though may also want to stay in London and can guarantee him first team football unlike some other championship clubs he’s not the most unrealistic signing we can go in for

I rate Mothersille, but a Posh supporter I know is delighted he’s going. Attitude etc

Ex-Chelsea academy so you'd think Ramsey would know of him, couple of years above him I know but would probably know of him and who to talk to about him.

They have a year option on him

Another player with good background, ex- Man United youth. Would love him to be this side of London next season, think we need to go up to get him though.

On the subject of him, he won the Posh podcast player of the season award

    https://x.com/UpThePoshcast/status/1924178176294760895?t=F6QUQomFxeLy_EC3Jt93oQ&s=19

Interesting that he won it over Poku. I know it isn't as official as a club player of the year, but the people who run club podcasts usually watch a fair chunk of games.

Galbraith actually plays at right back for Orient, obviously a more modern style full back where he inverts a lot. Sean Clare and Jordan Brown will likely be their midfield 2

    You appear to be right.

I just remember watching him in the middle a lot and against Stockport ending up in midfield a lot and assumed that's where his role is. Listed on sites as a central/attacking midfielder, but the same site says he's played majority right back.

I'd still like him either way, look at that versatility.

Reckon he would do wonders in the Docherty role if we were to have money available this summer especially if TC Leaburn and Ramsay get sold

Galbraith is clearly a very good player, I'm not sure he’s the type of player we will be looking to add though.

In the championship we are naturally going to be up against it in the technical attributes, the best technical footballers go to the best teams with the most money, which will not be us. If you try and play against it with similar then you lose. If we go up, I’d expect us to prioritise physical attributes, stamina, power and pace over technical. I just can’t see us going for a 5ft9 player that’s good with the ball, we probably won’t have the ball much in a lot of games

    Fair point.

Suppose it's why someone like Mothersille or Ricky-Jade Jones from Peterborough make more sense.

Quick/ strong players that can play across the front 3 and punish on the break when our chances will be limited.

No more theorising from me now anyway unless we get promoted, don't wanna get my hopes up too much 😂

Would you take Gilbert on a permanent move if we got promoted?

We haven't really seen enough of him to make a judgement.

Has looked useful when he has played and clearly has something about him but very hard to judge on such few mins.

Really hard to tell because he clearly lacks a bit of fitness compared to the rest of the group. That's totally understandable but it if Jones thinks he can get to the physical level needed then I think he has the technical ability there and Berry isn't getting younger

If he can spend the summer on the TC fitness program and come back with the fitness/mentality that Jones needs then he certainly seems to be the closest thing to a Berry replacement/apprentice we have at the moment.

I suppose this would be one to trust NJ's judgment on really.

Personally think it would be too much of a gamble. He’s shown glimpses but do have concerns how he will fare in a team in the championship where we won’t have a lot of the ball. If we get to the championship the goal would be staying up and would rather we invest in players who are proven and know what it takes to stay in this division or suit a playing style where we would be under a lot of pressure. Middlesbrough also wouldn’t let him go cheap due to his potential ability. If we were a stable championship club it’s the kind of player I’d take a gamble on but for what we need short term next season I’d rather spend 500k-1M on a player like like a Jerry Yates for example

He's under contract with Middlesbrough until summer 2027, so it will depend on what they want for him too.

If Middlesborough were willing to loan him again I think he might be worth a punt

Gilbert is an interesting one , clearly bags of ability but not sure if he's exactly what NJ would want to sign to compete with Berry. Not sure he's got much of a future at Boro with Fin Azaz and Morgan Whittaker ahead of him but equally I wouldn't really want to spend good money on him.

The AM role is an interesting one as NJ won’t want a player who doesn’t or can’t press high, track back and challenge in the air, even if they have plenty of goals and creativity in their game.

He will also consider players we’ve got in the academy, so one thing I don’t see him doing is bringing in back up for Berry. I’m pretty sure he’ll want an upgrade, especially if we don’t go up as it’s easier for u21s to break through at a lower level.

Fullah is highly rated at the club, can pick a creative pass, score inside and outside the box, can carry the ball and is equally good with either foot. Just had a season at u21 level a year early and stepped up comfortably, I think he’s one of those players who could easily play alongside better players, it’s more of a question of when NJ will be happy enough with the defensive and physical side of his game.

Enslin is another option though they might see him as cover for Edwards. Like Fullah he can score and create goals, but I think he’s got that bit more strength and aggression that NJ will like.

Gilbert’s got some good qualities but I think to pay a decent fee we’ll be looking for someone more well rounded.

If we got to the last few days of the window and a spare loan slot available I wouldn't be against that. Just not someone I'd want to pay a significant fee for
