So we've been linked with Fabianski and Kaminski. Probably end up with Nijinsky.

One Luton fan’s reaction on social media… (also a Charlton lad asking if he’s good enough for a team chasing automatic promotion lol)

Others saying we’ve had their pants down at £1m. Another saying he should be about £3 or 4 million…

Luton’s average attendance last season was 11,550. This coming season it will likely be sub 8,000. They need to cut costs. I don’t know but Kaminski will be into his third season there if he stays so maybe his deal is up at the end of the coming season. If so then 3m or so is cloud cookoo land. Luton fans need to get used to the fact they are not in the PL, even Championship, anymore.
Sod all to do with Charlton transfer rumours but Luton's average crowd won't be below 8,000 next season.
It’ll be a close run thing. Away fans will be massively down and home numbers will drop off too. Anyway argument stands that they need to massively cut costs.

No from me. Could only feel he will be collecting a wage and not really giving a toss.

Give me a signing with something to prove any day of the week.
Don't think Shelvey is NJ's type of player at all.
Shelvey would be the antithesis of a Jones signing.

    Only if he listens Caerphilly.
I've heard through the "grapevine" that we might be signing an Italian striker Gorgan Zola?

Really like the sound of the keeper, signing him in his prime years, sensible fee and lots of experience.

Feel like that's the first link we have had where you can confidently say he should step up and the calibre we should be going for.

    Happy days. 👍🏻
  • It’s Monday where are the bloody signings ??? 🤣

We've not seen any Reebok GK shirts yet. Maybe they were waiting for us to sign a new keeper...

I don't hate the idea of a team full of high energy headless chickens and a player like Shelvey sitting in the middle knitting it all together.

We do need experience and if his conditioning & mindset is right he could be very influential, so I would not rule him out

They will need to cut costs but they are still getting PL parachute payments, so that will help them more than other sides who are typically relegated to league one.

Not sure about Shelvey, nothing from the past couple of seasons suggests he's still got the legs to play in a Nathan Jones team. Let him go to Hull, they've already got Phillips, Ajayi, Burstow, and Liam Millar, it's like they're creating a Charlton tribute act.

We’ve got solid rumours to proper positive signings and our fans are still talking about resigning a former player… when will it end 😂

a washed up Jonjo Shelvey? No thanks. Do people no remember Ben Watson?

So, will we have an announcement today?  I predict not, and the angst levels of some will rise.

In all seriousness I genuinely feel we will start announcing stuff tomorrow, no idea why and as an idiot, I am probably wrong.

Had never heard of Luke Molyneux but had a look and found a thread on the MackemLife equivalent about him from earlier this year. Apparently started at Sunderland. A few raving about him and his “wand of a left foot”, sounds very TC in that he plays on the right and cuts in for his shots.

Consensus seemed to be though that he’d done really well for himself and a good L1 player, but they didn’t think he was Championship level.

Not sure when the cut off is, but if today still counts as 24/25 won’t it make more sense to pay fees under the L1 rules?

I think for accounts the fee is spread across the length of their contracts anyway, so I’m not convinced it makes much of a difference.
