They had to sign Kelman to make up for the disappointment of losing Ahadme.31

You joke, but two seasons ago we would have been the club selling Kelman and bringing in Ahadme.jose said:They had to sign Kelman to make up for the disappointment of losing Ahadme.
Whoever is responsible for steering the new owners in the right direction and splashing the cash is a God.20 -

Given how Jones said we'd picked our targets regardless if we were a Championship or League One club next season... You have to wonder
(1) Who wouldn't have joined us had we not gone up, from the current group of signings.
(2) If we were spending this sort of money in League One next season, we'd surely have gone up.1 -
Loads of Reading fans saying we have had a 1.8 million bid accepted for Harvey Knibbs.22

Would expect it's probably got a lot to do with Gavin Carter now being their man on the ground and getting Chapple in to replace Andy Scott.Braziliance said:

Are you happy with the owners now then ?Braziliance said:

And that's not forgetting they handed Jones a new 5 year contract before the player signings started.Braziliance said:

We seem to be operating like a well run club again.

Given the increased number of substitutes allowed I don’t think either Zach Mitchell or Ibrahim Fullah are likely to go out on loan.
Maybe Zach for half a season to a credible club because we have a triallist or two to still sign to bolster the defence for now, but despite his youth it looks to me that Nathan Jones will hold on to Fullah as the cheat code Dixon was supposed to be.
Dixon would hugely benefit from a loan where he is more or less guaranteed to play. Perhaps Crawley.1 -
Jesus . Two of the worst players ever to put the shirt on . Dowie should have been locked up !Talal said:

Dixon is the player I'm most conflicted about , he looks far too good for U21 football but I don't see where he's going to get first team minutes now even with 9 subs. His pace could be really dangerous but there's also a world where TC isn't a regular now so TC does that role off the bench.jose said:Given the increased number of substitutes allowed I don’t think either Zach Mitchell or Ibrahim Fullah are likely to go out on loan.

Crawley would be ideal , local and play good football under Lindsay even if they're currently having ownership issues.

First time I've seen him say something positive, well done Dwane.2 -

I think the two go hand in hand.ForeverAddickted said:Given how Jones said we'd picked our targets regardless if we were a Championship or League One club next season... You have to wonder

We all know what a pit League One is to be in and think regardless of money to spend holding onto players is harder and so is convincing players like Kelman to turn down Championship offers to join you there instead.
Yes, Birmingham splashed out big money last year but that’s probably more an outlier the money they spent. Even Wrexham only spent so much on the likes of Sam Smith.
That play off Final win is really starting to look like a huge turning point in the recent history of the club.9 -
I thought he said the owners were skint and he wanted rid of them 😭ButtleJR said:https://x.com/23gamer45/status/1949380413102923867?t=ghIK18RXqtwP-JpWJFHsaQ&s=19

To be fair, I have never really had much against the owners. I didn't think Scott, Methven & Rodwell were right for the club (I still hold this view).redbuttle said:

I've spoke with Carter, and he's a good bloke and the right fit for Charlton.
Have always believed the owners are sensible, and wouldn't harm the club like others have, the only thing I have said is that we won't be spending much money, and on that note..

Hopefully won’t spend the next 18 years paying for this one though!ForeverAddickted said:

I’m not sure either Mitchell is good enough.Scoham said:
Bell, Gillesphey, Jones, Zach, Alex, Ramsay, Burke - I could see Zach going on loan or Alex loaned/sold rather than another CB signing. The Red Robin said:As well as a RWB, I’d still like to see another CB come in. Feels a bit light there.
