The only one of those types of programmes I’ve ever watched was the Sunderland one for the Wembley game, though even then skipped through to the good bits
Think people are being so over the top about the documentary, I’ve given it a watch after initially being against all it stands for and it’s completely changed my perspective on them and their whole motive
I really don’t get the bitterness surrounding Wrexham. They are not funded by middle eastern or Russian money and they are not buying players for millions of pounds.
If their owners had bought us we would all be very happy.

I've really enjoyed the first 2 series and learned a lot. I certainly didn't appreciate how much Parky swears!
I'll give the episode they secured promotion to the Championship a swerve though

I think it’s jealousy that they have a bit of a personality the amount of comments they generate it must chew some people up welsh, miles away , a minge of a club , who gives a fuck let them have their fun in the sun
Watched the first series , then thought it jumped the shark and just descended into all the usual football documentary clichés. Nowhere near as good as Sunderland Til I Die.

I've actually got nothing against them, it's more the media coverage that annoys me.

That isn't their fault though, is it? I've watched all seasons with my wife, who has zero interest in football and we've both really enjoyed it, probably for different reasons. I love the fact that the Hollywood duo are able laugh at themselves. I also love that they are not just trying to build a football club but to revive a community around it. They should be applauded.

That’s interesting ( as I’m usually on board with your takes) . For monthis, I was firmly in the “i’d rather cut off my ( choose your organ)” camp and then in the autumn I nicked the first series and was hooked. I loved Sunderland too, but it’s gripping car crash TV because the club was. I think Wrexham does a better job overall of showing the casual viewer, espec the Yanks, how a club like that means something to the local community. And I like Rob and Ryan. Of course as film pros they know how to self-present, but the actual results don’t contradict the narrative at all. I finally bought into Rob especially when they showed him back at his favourite club in Philadelphia. I can’t even recall whether it was an NFL or a baseball club, but he had the same relationship with it as any of us on here have with Charlton. The worst thing for me is the opening sequence and song, where they took Sunderland’s template and fail, cringingly, IMO.

This for me, and no it isn’t their fault and I don’t dislike them for that, it just irks me. If it was Charlton, I don’t know, think id find it uncomfortable, but I get imposter syndrome.
It’s not the club itself that irritates me, it’s the new fans they’ve picked up that like to give their pennies worth online about a ‘non-major’ football league on the other side of the Atlantic. Find it very aggravating.
I've enjoyed all seasons of Wrexham till I die. I do buy in to what they have done for the community and the coverage they give to it. Some of it is American cheese but there are also a lot of heart rending stories both of fans and players, such as the coverage of the 100 plus year old fan who they covered in a previous season and when he recently died. The player whose delight at the prospect of becoming a father crumbled when they lost the baby and how the club treated it and supported him. Recently, as I mentioned elsewhere, Mullins and Ollie Palmer reactions to being sidelined .. "if it wasn't for me they would not have got this success" "I don't know why the manager does not like me any more"
To me it's not Wrexham, it's human interest plus a bit of American cheese and some football.
I will probably swerve the promotion securing game.

Right! There's so much of it the taps straight into my love of Charlton and the deep roots of football in our society.
I can't imagine somebody watching it and still condemning what they are doing
