I'm getting a bit pissed off with this Liverpool/scousers bashing. What's that got to do with tomorrows game. I lived there for 5 years, teacher training at Liverpool University, first job at Knutsford, continued to live there and commute. Still go back there frequently, from Altrincham, pub crawl with mates, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Born and bred in New Eltham, but have moved north with work. Some of you need to get a reset on your Londonsentric viewpoint about the rest of the country.
Anyway, rant over, season ticket holder, will be at Wrexham tommorow, and hope we smash the Clowns!!
ps It's only a 50 minute drive for me, so I don't have to stay in Chester!! ( another town we regularly do pub crawls around.)

Living in Birkenhead is another experience entirely, it makes Liverpool look like Knightsbridge.
And to add a bit more intrigue, my father from Kentish Town’s father was from Birkenhead.

Oh to be able to add some useless information to an away day thread.

    What Kentish town was that?
  • Fair does, you have beaten me with your wit, you could claim to be a scouser yourself.

In the Nags Head in Wrexham. Nice enough waiting for nosh. When we sat down celeb Charlton fan Sue Perkins was on the telly and Eltham's finest Dr and the Medics were on the sound system. It's an omen!

Yes, but not if you’re clever enough to leave a flock of sheep in the garden. They’re tax deductible.
    Or marry them off

Where are people drinking in Wrexham
    Yeah, any ideas on this?
Most away teams don’t ten to drink in Wrexham but Chester instead due to hardly any away pubs

Plus Wrexham is a bit of a toilet.
& a bit dodgy on a saturday night, be careful all.

What a beautiful city Chester is.
Have just walked the city walls and passed the race course.
    Also went into the Cathedral

I imagine you get a lot of scouse overspill there.
Lots of scousers and other visitors from the area when the racing season starts.
Not sure what I dislike the most
    Scousers, mosquitos or Aids.

I'd like to do away with all three.

Liverpool for a day out at the football is a grin, but unfortunately they all think they are Jimmy Tarbuck.
I first went there in the 80's and it was amazing to see people walking into boozers selling all sorts of s***, the nippers with a paper and pen wanting to be sponsored.  An education.
Haha definitely, was in a boozer once after a game, blokes walked in with black rubbish bags full of suits etc for sale & joints of meat if I remember correctly. Different world !

I’ve been forced into watching this on my laptop from my hospital bed.  I’m gutted but looking forward to the game.
it won’t necessarily define the season but it can really make a statement if we can stand in the playoffs with both Wycombe and Wrexham’s scalps in our pocket
my worry would be Leyton Orient if they squeeze in.  They are  tough cookie and we pulled their pants down when we best friend at their place.

enjoy the game my “Lifer buddies” and sing a bit for me 👍

What a pub!  Got there at 11 one year on way to Boro.  It was rammed already.

One Charlton “youth” thought he’d be funny after ordering about 8 pints (which came to about £7.20) and said to the barmaid “oh no, I’ve left my wallet at home”.  “That’s alright love” she replied quite seriously…”I’ll just take it out of your face”!!!  🫣😉

And so it begins, shortly being picked up to go to Ebbsfleet station, then walk from St Panc to Euston - 8.30 train to Crewe then change for Wrexham - got plenty of beers for the trip 😃

We have parkrun at 9am in Westmill, Hertfordshire to break up the journey.

I am told the Waterworld Leisure Centre is £3 for all day parking once you're in Wrexham.

Home for the night. A few beers in Chester, a few more in Gresford before the game and then back to Chester to carry on the celebrations!

Popped into the pub next to ground after getting off the train. I'm probably a bit early but I'm gonna wander and try and find a pub with at least a few Charlton fans!

We’re in the garden at the Maesgwyn - more of a venue than a pub. Just the other side of the ground from the Turf, on left. Think we’re the only away here so far…it’s pretty empty at the moment
