We didn't look up to it today at all. No one comfortable taking anyone on, lots of back passing, lots of undercooked or overcooked passing and just in general we look hurried compared to Wycombe.
Without being too far up Wrexhams arse, and not throwing too much shade towards Wycombe, but that's the difference between a proper home crowd, and a tame one. I genuinely believe our players crumbled a bit, similar to Brum away.
First goal was a screamer and erupted the place, second knocked the stuffing out of us. I've been to a fair few games, and I can confidently say that was the best home atmosphere I've witnessed in league1 at least.
Well beaten on the pitch, and in the stands.
I am also now firmly in the camp of please just avoid Stockport. They're very similar sides, and I think we will crumble there as well. Wembley against them would be a different prospect.
Shout out to Josh Edwards who really fkn stepped up and put in a performance, some player. Also thought Macca did pretty well, the rest, my word. Even players like TC, Ramsay, Coventry looked a shadow of their usual selves.
A very sobering day, and to be honest, I'm a bit more gutted about it than I imagined I would be.
As for Wrexham, take away the glitz and glamour, all the cameras and the a-listers, that is still a very well run club.
I was actually quite shocked. That's of course my first visit there, and I don't know what their attendances and atmospheres are usually like, but that was the best home atmosphere I've witnessed in recent memory. Only maybe Pompey compares top of my head.
You could see red shirts everywhere walking through town, pubs were bustling, they did their little march down the street, and it felt like every section of that stadium was singing.
Alright there's probably a few Liverpool fans amongst that crowd and "Wrexham are my second team" types, but that doesn't take away from today. That's a club on the up if their owners stick around. I'm taking a slice of humble pie, cause I thought they'd take a while to adjust to this league.
Looks like throwing the money at it and the feel good factor around the area has done the goods.
Could you ever see us matching what they did today in terms of buzz and atmosphere? Cause I can't. Extremely sobering and I just want this poxy Burton game out of the way now.
Fair play Wrexham, you did throw money at it, but, there's clearly a lot of work done behind the scenes at that club.
Hopefully we will be joining them and Birmingham, cause I'll be blunt, the thought of another season in this shit league makes me want to headbutt traffic.
I'm sure it's been said a million times already, but that sky coverage was dreadful. You'd think Wrexham fans will eventually become fed up of it too. Instead of seeing the incredible celebrations in the crowd, the camera just pans to the Hollywood boys. The media "circus" around them is far more irritating than the club itself.
At one point they cut straight from pics of the Wrexham owners who were chatting amongst themselves and not watching game, to pictures of dewy eyed spectators looking up at the owners. All this, whilst the game was going on. I was aware that as a football fan keen on seeing the match, I was actually watching some random strangers watching some people who were disinterested in the game. Appalling coverage!
A tough day at the office today, but not for the first time this season and this team have proven they know how to bounce back. With Stockport playing away at Wycombe it is our job to beat Burton and hope one or the other beats the other. That would leave us 4th playing either Stockport or Wycombe.
Wrexham deserved their win today and did to us what we did to Wycombe.
Bottled that unfortunately. Feel better than I thought I would of this morning. Feel wrexham deserved 2nd place, and fair play to Parkinson his team outplayed us.
Don't feel confident at all going into the play offs. The same feeling I have back in 2018. But for the first time in a long time I do feel excited for next season. Have to build on this squad, wether we do? Will have to wait and see.
We're way to reliant on our starting x11 being fit. I can't imagine many teams that get promoted struggle without just 2 of the starting squad. If we play the same starting 11 we did yesterday against any team in this division we would struggle, let alone top 6.
Onwards and upwards. Still have a crack at the whip however and would love my gut feeling to be proven wrong.
Whatever happens players and staff deserve credit.
The season caught up with us little injuries creeping in Berry Small AMB Ahadme Jones Leaburn and Aneke suspended …… that why i say rest the first 11 now take no risks Burton are safe result does not matter ..

Don’t think we bottled it Wrexham first two goals were down to us .. that might be through tiredness Campbell Ramsey and Anderson switched off badly .. we had a couple of decent chances there was not much in the game , Mannion did not make a save till 88 mins so Wrexham did not create much themselves , say it again Wycombe losing got rid the Wrexham jitters that they had last few weeks and made it a much more difficult game fir us ……

Agree with you about the wycombe result, I really hoped for a draw. I do think we bottled the occasion, major red flags when the line up was announced too. But we go again. All isn't lost yet. Just means more sleepless nights
Yesterday showed us not signing a winger in January has left us short in attacking ideas or the way we like to play.
fair play to Wrexham but my word I was surprised with the amount of their fans who left the ground at full time and casual walking down the road…it was like they just drew 0-0 at home…must be used to promotions now.
I also noticed that the Hollywood boys, weren't even watching the game and only started when they realised that the cameras were on them. Natural for actors I suppose.
The high of stuffing Wycombe, and then getting stuffed ourselves, you’ve just got to to take the rough with the smooth.
Congratulations to Wrexham getting promoted, I know that will make some of our fans mad, for me saying that, as they’ve been bankrolled and bought success.
The reason i say that, is we got to the ground a couple of hours early, and met some really nice, friendly and welcoming Wrexham fans, who were old school, had been through the ringer watching their team for donkeys years, and couldn’t quite believe what was going on.
I remembered the Sunderland fans shaking our hand as we were coming out of Wembley, and wishing us all the best for next season, so thought it was right to the do the same with the Wrexham fans I came across after the match.
As for the match, it was Wrexhams day, we couldn’t compete with them all over the pitch, shows how stretched our squad is, with a few people missing / not fit.
If they are missing for the playoffs, we are bang in trouble, whoever we play.
As for that linesmen…… he was more bent than the floodlights!
if we lose 2 or 3 of our best players against a team like Wrexham we become very ordinary. we need players like Berry & Small. onwards and upwards COYR 👍👍
Don't feel too down people, if we'd been offered this position after that Crawley defeat we'd all have laughed at the thought. Losing Small and Berry meant we were down massively on our attacking threat and when things aren't going well we need Aneke to come on. We don't have the players for a Plan C unfortunately.
If I was a betting man I'd say we'd be facing Wycombe in the play offs which would suit us compared to Stockport over two legs
”they did the basics better than us, they were more clinical than us, and probably outworked us”
Talent and ability aside, where they’re clearly well ahead of us, is the effort the Wrexham players put in. Relentless energy, first to every second ball, even at 3-0 up. Only Edwards matched that for us.
The Charlton team that beat Huddersfield at home and Wycombe away so convincingly would have gone to Wrexham today and got a result. But the team that showed up was a pale imitation. We were way off our best and Wrexham, like it or not, are a good side. They were far superior in all respects and thoroughly deserved both the win and the promotion. It was always possible to envisage defeat there, but I didn't see that abject Charlton display coming.
Still, automatic promotion was always a very outside chance after the poor first half of the season and we should be thankful that Nathan Jones and the lads have done fantastically well to get us into the playoffs. We now need to bounce back from today’s disappointment the way that we have so many times in the past four months, with a convincing win against Burton to get back on track as we go into the play-off games. We can still get that third promotion slot.
No point in digging out the many poor performances from our players today but we should note that Josh Edwards was probably the sole Charlton player who stood up to the test.
The part played by Sam Smith just goes to show what value you can get by spending decent money on a decent player. If we’d have had him to call on since January it might well have been us celebrating promotion tonight. And, finally, whilst I'm gutted that we fell short today, I was pleased for Dobbo that he gained the promotion. A really good pro for us, player and captain.
Or even someone like that Alfie May from Birmingham

Didnt realise they got that much sun in Wrexham!
I didn't realise just how desperate I am for some success on the pitch. Mrs TT has the same dark cloud following her around too.
No complaints about the result, Wrexham were far better than us on the day, can't even direct my anger and frustration at the referee.
Perhaps we would have lost with a fit L Jones, Berry and Small, but I doubt we would have been so far off the mark.
My big fears are that we won't get the injured players fit and the whole squad will be as depressed as we are right now, and unable to shake it.
NJ has a huge job to do now.
we need players like Berry & Small.

4-2 Rotherham
3-0 Peterborough
3-0 Wrexham
However, time to dust down and make sure it improves for the play offs. We are more than capable of this as shown by other performances and results.
This isn't the time to be down, time to get behind the team and push on to Wembley!
