We are going down to Wadebridge in September. Cycling the Camel Trail is a good day.
We walk Wadebridge to Padstow along the Camel Trail with the dogs. Saves all the faffing with parking when you get to Steinville.1 -

addix said:Talland Bay Hotel outside Looe. If you like walking you can reach Polperro in one direction or Looe the other way (cab or bus back if you don't fancy walking both directions). From Looe you can take the train up the valley (!) which is a lovely journey. We often went as far as Liskeard and just got the next train back for something to do.
Lost Gardens of Heligan near St Austell was somewhere we regularly visited, or heading for the Devon border there's Morwellham Quay.
Then if it's raining just spend the day in Trago Mills.0 -
Difficult to find those gardens though.3

Was trying to think of the harbour we visited near St Austell when I posted earlier. Could remember it beginning with a C, but just checked and I was thinking of Charlestown.
Has got a fascinating shipwreck museum and a lovely pub.0 -

In the autumn with the fresh Atlantic breeze coming across those cliff tops and the trees leaves turning brown, walking back into Boscastle to have a bite to eat and a drink in the welly or the cobweb with the fire going. Remember going into the cobweb before health and safety got involved and the whole ceiling was completely covered in cobwebs.0 -

If you are feeling flush, Hotel Tresantan in St Mawes, about a 50 minute drive South from St Austell is a great place to stay. Lunch outside on the terrace overlooking the bay on a sunny day is great. Owned by the Polizzi family. A good video in the link below.

My family are from Polperro. Spent alot of my time there in school holidays as we had a house there. Relatives included the village builders, plumber, baker etc back in the day.
Did my schooling in Bexley and Hurstmere Sidcup at the same time as @DaveMehmet. I could tell you some stories but don’t want to blow my cover.
