Obviously there's no problem segregating JS and we know it works. I presume Warrick mentioning 2000 away fans is key, and that if it was less away fans, it would be doable.
Doncaster only brought about 1400 for the last semi final and we segregated. Maybe Wycombe made it clear they were expecting to sell 2000 and this has made splitting JS more difficult.
To be fair he didn’t say the 2,000 that’s the EFL rule and he went on to say if we got tickets back we would probably open it up to home fans but it would be very late in the day
Warrick also claimed that you can’t segregate the JS Stand with 2,000 away fans. I’m not sure that’s correct and I believe we’ve done it in the past, although it does put pressure on the facilities on the west side.

That makes sense. Let's wait and see what Wycombe manage to sell then.
Would be great to see home fans on all sides of the ground again.

He referred to the rule, which as you say is 2,000. I think it was a mistake ever giving them 3,000 as it was unnecessary and he is now hiding that behind a claim about segregation which isn’t necessarily true based on previous evidence. Maybe what they sell will make it academic either way.

I can see why they gave them the whole thing. It’s possible we could have given them 2k, they sell them out and we sell out the home end and then the club have to decide whether to release more away tickets when the home end is sold out or have an empty area on a TV game. Neither are great from a PR standpoint
I’m assuming we told Wycombe to sell the lower tier first and not start on the upper tier until the lower had sold out otherwise it’s a moot point anyway.

Surely you would ask them to sell the West side and then we could take the East side, that’s what happened in 2019 and would be needed for turnstiles I think?

I think they are struggling to sell their home leg tickets - never mind 3000 away.

Think the point has already been made but you'd expect this to change if they win on Sunday
I reported earlier that when the tickets went on sale to ST holders, I found that only two of our three seats has been made available to me. My son had his own Fan ID and was able to log in himself, but (like so many others) he wasn’t able to buy his own seat so he bought another seat in the next block. After several attempts, and 15 minutes on hold, I spoke to someone in the ticket office today and she was able to sort it all out for us and the three of us will now be together for the game. I am conscious of criticism levelled by some at ST holders for doing what we did, but I reckon there must be several hundred of us who are neither selfish nor stupid for doing what we did. The ticketing system simply did not offer a way for my son to get his usual seat, as others will attest. It has now all been sorted to our satisfaction and the “other” seat has already been snapped up.
Firstly this is not a dig at you & I am in no way moaning the fact that you have a ticket and I am still unable to buy one until 11am tomorrow.
But can you, or any other ST holder on here explain the mentality of your decision last Sunday to buy a ticket in another part of the ground when the IT system wasn't letting you buy your own seat. I'm just curious as to the thought process & panic mode you were in to think that on day 1 of 12 you had to buy a ticket, any ticket, that day even though there are less than 8000 ST holders in a ground that holds 24k home supporters. Did you really think that if you didn't buy one right now that they would sell out before the end of the day ?
Is it a fear of missing out (FOMO) or some sort of siege mentality. Are you one of those who panic bought all the toilet rolls in the early days of the pandemic in fear of going without even though there had been no mention of short supplies ? I'm interested because I don't recall this happening before on here & wondered if anyone would agree that if they had been more measured then by Tuesday everything would have been back to normal, the IT system problems would have (and did) get sorted out and you now wouldn't have to be ringing the ticket office trying to exchange tickets for your "held" season ticket seat.
Just wondered if it's me (probably is)
There are 2 separate single tickets in the covered end on the site right now. Worth checking every now and again this afternoon.
For the love of God ......how many more times !!
I can not purchase ANY tickets until tomorrow at 11am. Only current Season Ticket holders can purchase before then.
Do you honestly believe I'd be sitting here talking about thus issue if I could simply log on a purchase a ticket.
And again, without wanting to sound pedantic or annoyed......its because of all those Season Ticket holders who panicked, bought tickets elsewhere and are now wanting to change seats (back to their 24/25 ST seats) that is causing all this mess and subsequent delay.
Just own it. You panicked, bought elsewhere and now everything has calmed down & the IT system has been sorted out you all want your own seats back.
Whaaaa......👶
Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. I bought 3 tickets yesterday. I'm a non ST Holder.

If the home demand is as strong as appears then that isn’t a risk. But we are where we are.

But it is a risk as the home demand is fairly irrelevant in that scenario as home fans wouldn’t be able buy the 1,000 tickets

How is it irrelevant? If home areas are sold out then there is no question you could sell out the extra seats in the JS Stand and as they are digital you could do it at any stage before the matchday. It would only be a risk if we were struggling to sell home areas.

Because (if Warwick is to be believed) we can’t segregate the JS if Wycombe sold 2,000, that’s where the whole discussion started

Not doubting your knowledge here at all but I doubt he is talking from an ill informed position either. There’s 0 chance he, or the club, make those comments without having spoken to the relevant authorities. We’ve also seen away fans in the upper west within the last few years so clearly that is allowed
Warrick also claimed that you can’t segregate the JS Stand with 2,000 away fans. I’m not sure that’s correct and I believe we’ve done it in the past, although it does put pressure on the facilities on the west side.

Knowledge/experience, motivation and foresight ?
I say this as it was obvious from Northampton and Burton games lots of people were on board. Should have given Wycombe the minimum possible and suck up any costs. It's the playoffs FFS.

But the world has changed since 2001. There will be different regulations, different police liaisons etc. Using something that happened 25 years ago as evidence it’s possible isn’t realistic

I'm not using it as anything to do with the current set up, I was answering the question by U Boat what season we had seasons we used to segregate it all the time
Ive said it before but Ive never liked having away fans behind the goal. Ideally if we ever managed to 'finish' the Valley and have a complete closed bowl shape we could stick the away fans in a corner or on the end of a stand at the sides. But it is what is it is.
