Where is everyone boozing before the game? Thinking of getting up town early doors, be good to get in a pub packed out with Charlton

By “up town” do you mean somewhere in London or in Wycombe itself? If the latter, don’t forget that it’s bloody miles to the stadium so plan out how you’ll get there and don’t be sitting in the pub until 15 mins before kick off!
I won’t be drinking much on Sunday as I have a big day at work on Monday. Terrible kick off time for a match.0 -

On past visits, I’ve quite enjoyed the Mad Squirrel Brewery and Taproom in central High Wycombe - https://www.madsquirrelwycombe.co.uk/
We also broke our train journey at Beaconsfield prior to a midweek game a few years ago for lunch at The Royal Standard of England, which contends it is the oldest pub in the country -
https://www.theoldestpub.com/ Interesting place and nice food.
Given transport issues and what looks like a limited bus service to the ground, I’m taking the car this time and will have to make do with the fan zone.

Avoid the three tuns in the town, awful pub.

If arriving into Wycombe by train then the Flint Cottage opposite the station is a good pub to head for. A big beer garden out the back as well. Plenty of taxis outside the train station to take you towards the ground2

Wasn’t it a pub at Wycombe that had the pound in the pint glass shenanigans that some of you used to rave about? Or am I getting mixed up?Actually that doesn’t sound like a Wycombe kind of pub!0

Pretty well known pub, its closure made the BBC.

The Hour Glass, 0.5 mile from the ground is ok for pre/post match beer, although busy the service is good. I would stay clear of the bar in the fans zone as the last couple of times I have been there the queue was massive and very slow moving (15 mins plus).0

theres a few maidstone people on here who will know better. @ME14addick perhaps?
depends on what part. for example near where my sister lives is a pub (not the best place) called the cherry tree and they have always put charlton on even if other more fashionable teams/games are being played.1 -

Around the corner is The Old House at Home pub which should have it on as well. Stella £4.55 a pint. Its a bit rough in terms of old pissheads but no trouble. At least 4 screens. I was in last night to see the Spurs game and the Utd match was on the other screen. Worth checking out1 -
I'm afraid I haven't been to any of the pubs listed in Maidstone as being good for sports viewing.0
