Play-off Travel Plans

Home leg today, excitement creeping in. Just finishing my brew then I will start the 3 hour drive from the fens. I'll stop halfway and then park up in Charlton. Nip to Blackheath for some food and then back to The Valley to soak up the atmosphere.
Anyone travelling from further away and if so from where. If by rail, engine numbers are mandatory 😵‍💫

  • Only the bus from Welling this afternoon (but did start my play off journey with a couple of flights from Bangkok).
  • Sunny arlesey departing at 2.30, eating chicken george at 4.05, singing like a lunatic 7.05pm
  • Meeting my dad and brothers in turnpike around 5.30-6ish then bus after a curry and beer
  • 17:31 loop line from New Eltham to Charlton.
    choo choo!

  • I'm a Blue Badge user and usually use the yellow lines at the top of Charlton Lane, thinking that I will need to pitch up double early to get on them. Hmm.
  • Clocking off at 230, heading over to my old mans and we will be travelling up with my Nephew from Southampton!
  • Valley Express from Battle.
  • 17.00 train from Norwich. Tube and bus from Stratford.  Lucky if I'm in by 19.45.

Last train home just after 23.30
reminds me... I need to book a taxi home for 01.20am

Up for work/toddler around 6am or so

    COYR
  • Heading off northamptonshire At about 345 after school pick up - daughters last day of sats exams
  • Hopefully, on the 4PM train to get enough time to enjoy the build up around the ground.

Will be incredibly tight timing to get the last train home if it goes to penalties for me. At least there will be enough of us to split the cost of a taxi if that happens to be the case.

Meeting our pal, John from Coventry , at TW station, then buying 4 x fish & chips en route to visiting @ GlassHalfFull , then leaving TW circ 3.30pm after picking up @charltonnick and heading to SE7.
  • I live in Woolwich so Im walking.
  • Leaving Leicestershire at about 2:30, got to drive as there's no trains home after the match, a couple of pints in the Oak and then roar the boys onto Wembley. COYA
  • 12:37 from Wargrave to Greenwich, meeting mate from Northamptonshire for a long lunch and enough beer to relax us before we take our seats. The last time I was this nervous yet excited, I think it ended with an apology and "This has never happened to me before"
  • Car journey up from my village in Kent to park as close as possible to where I was conceived, born and lived for 20-odd years in Sherington Road. It’s where it all began.

  • 7:05 train from Belvedere, hopefully have a quick beer before the game
  • Leave around 6.15-6.30. Bus to Lee Green, then bus to the Royal Standard & finally bus to the ground.

Hopefully be there for 7.30-7.45. Cutting it fine perhaps but I'm not one for "savouring the atmosphere".
  • Meeting son number one at St Pancreas after work to get the 5.30 train and then two trains home to Biggleswade after the game.
  • Shall be leaving Staines at 5pm.. and then just hope I don't miss the last train home tonight!
