Why can’t the club now say ‘no more tickets’ ?

Seems silly to be not to be transparent on that.
Curious - Why the LOLs from @p@ProperCharlton and @s@southamptonaddick  ?

Do you genuinely believe comms this week has been well handled ?

It's easy for me to say as I got my tickets on Tuesday, they haven't been perfect but I think they've handled it fairly well. The phases were explained clearly and they've continued to update us when required.

They said "Given the exceptionally high demand, we are continuing to request more tickets and will issue a further communication to fans should this request be facilitated"

So it's pretty clear that the lack of communication means the request was denied. I'm not sure why people keep asking for an update when it's obvious they don't have one.
I do wonder if people apply this to their real lives, constant need for updates, hand holding etc.

The Come Fly With Me sketch springs to mind.

    ”Burger please”

    ”Burger?”

    ”Press burger”

    beep

    ”Fries please”

    “Fries?”

    ”Press fries”

    beep
In this case however it’s hardly a constant. There have been very few updates.

I’d say less than normally  seen when we have an upcoming home game.

I’m not saying constant updates just conclude the message they started.
What updates do they provide before a home game?
Frequent requests to get me to buy a ticket.

Your match day experience  etc etc.

The point is it’s easy to say something it’s not onerous.
That’s really not the same thing, is it?

That’s advertising tickets that are for sale and e-mails went out to eveyone yesterday about the match day experience tomorrow.
The same as in they can send multiple messages easily.

  • Rather than say further communication to fans should this request be facilitated, they could have said we will issue a statement once a decision has been made. By not saying anything leaves people thinking there’s still a possibility of getting extra tickets.
  • Sheff Utd and Sunderland have a much larger support than Orient so there was no chance that additional tickets would be available as they would both sell out very quickly.
Charltons only hope of getting more tickets would have been if Orient returned any that were unsold.
The power's that be, not Charlton, decided not to sell those tickets despite Charltons repeated requests, which the club communicated on numerous occasions.
Then they could say that. The club will have to explain it at some point, even if it ends up doing so through CAST. So they may as well do so now.

To me this smacks heavily of comms controlled by people with no comms experience or background.

    Bring back Methven, perhaps.

Only once they’ve received some sort of communication telling them they are able to.
    Informed consent is important, m'Lud...

Trouble is they’re all in a queue to get laid but some people are in the queue just to have a look at how many people are in the queue and some people still aren’t even eligible to get in the queue….
This made me think of the weirdos queueing up for Bonnie Blue. Thanks for that.

Pleading ignorance of who that is, but is that a better or worse assumption than that it could have been a dogging reference (which, given the supposed involvement of certain footballers....)?

Mate, you got lucky with that "joke" a few days ago and got some lols. Fair play.

But since then you've been trying to use it over and over again, with less and less success.

Do yourself a favour and give it up now.
  • I don’t think the clubs comms has been as awful as some are suggesting, but I do think the club should release a statement now to put any ticketless fans still holding out hope out of their misery.

I wish I'd never heard of her tbf. Few months back she claimed to have had sex with 1000 men in a day, and there was clips online of the weirdos queueing up for go. Proper grim stuff.

Oh come on. The use of the words "initial allocation" leads people to think maybe there will be more.

Then when they announced the extra allocation they said they were asking for more, which also suggests maybe there will be more.

If there isn't then that's that, which is surprising to me because last time around Sunderland sold more of their allocation than Orient have now, but we were still given some of their seats late on.
Not sure if we got the additional tickets from the Sunderland allocation, more likely like this time the additional tickets have come from corporate and complimentary tickets not taken up in our half of ground
  • "We've been advised that there are no more tickets that can be made available for the game."

Disappointing to hear that as sounds like there's gonna be plenty of empty seats. Hopefully everyone that wants one can get one through resales.

Pretty sure we did. Our seats in the top tier went past halfway opposite the royal box.
  • So, "the configuration of the stadium". This wasn't factored in to the build all of 20-ish years ago?

I never realised that we had additional tickets last time round. Looked fairly even but i was sat in the last row to the back of the goal.

Re the comms issue. I am not on either side as fortunate enough to have been in phase 2 on 545 points. However i did renew my season ticket the day before deadline day and i was pestered every day with texts and emails up to the point i renewed. So not sure how difficult it would be to set them up to update fans on their database by the same method.
