As someone who couldn't be there to experience it live, I wanted to express my thanks to everyone who turned up and contributed to making it an incredible, unforgettable experience.
I watched on TV, mesmerised. I won't say the performances of everyone were consistently high, but the whole evening - thanks in no small part to a glorious crowd, in which everyone appeared to be enjoying every single second - was a brilliant spectacle. There were winners and losers, of course. And, losing in the last stage before the final must be absolutely galling. But, to the victors the spoils; and they go onwards to the final, which will be broadcast internationally, not just to the lucky few thousand who can score tickets.
Well done to everyone involved. And, a special well done to everyone in the crowd who braved the noise, the pyrotechnics and the varied performances: your input absolutely made it. I can't wait for the final.
I understand that there were people in the crowd from Australia, Czechia, Georgia, Ireland, Montenegro and Serbia. All of whom will be disappointed that their countries are now out. But congratulations to Armenia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, and Malta, all of whom get to perform in this weekend's live final. Anyone else going to be watching?
