True fans never book holidays or events during the play off window
    This.

My work & home diary is filled with events I want to go to / watch on tv & my life is then planned around them.

CAFC fixtures inc end of season play offs
    Test matches
    Golf tournaments (Majors).

Really dont understand people buying a Season Ticket & then booking a holiday during the season. And the season doesnt finish until the end of May.

Won't Golfie have to cancel his Sunday lunch?
    😂😂😂😂😂

I love all this Micky taking when I'll be going to Wembley but hundreds wont because they cant plan their lives.

Go on.....carry on laughing at me. But I'll be having the last laugh next Sunday  !!!!

6 months ago, many of us probably only dared to dream of making the playoffs, let alone the final. My daughter is gong to be on holiday with her new boyfriend so misses the final (not sure I like his attitude towards lifes priorities) 🙁

I wonder who is having to cancel, postpone or apologise, for prioritising Wembley on Sunday.

Who wins the prize for the biggest other event being missed?
    Disown her (gong ?  :D)

My son's mate is getting married soon and his mates booked a stage weekend in Amsterdam for the bank holiday weekend. Booked back in November/ December. He and my son, both season ticket holders for 27 years in a dilemma. They know whast they want to do, but feels obliged to his mates.

My car's booked into the Enfield Pageant and was due to be going with friends on the Sunday. Luckily the booking covers the weekend so will go on Saturday instead.

It strikes me the root of a lot of these problems is associating with non football people. I get it we have to fit in with wider society at times and it's inevitable that friction will arise in periods of charlton success. In the longer term the solution has to be to dis-associate as if we are on the up the problems will only get worse.

With divorce rates what they are your sons mate will probably get another stag do in his life, might not ever get another chance to see Charlton at Wembley!

I’m in Nashville just moved my son from college to down here, I don’t land at Heathrow till 12pm next Sunday, guess I’ll be watching it on my phone in a cab. We’re both gutted to not be there, we were in the middle of a 10 hour drive yesterday, nearly crashed the car when Godden scored!

I'm playing a gig at Manchester Jazz Festival the night before. I can't cancel that, so I'm booked on the 02:45 National Express on Sunday 25th (which I'll sleep on), dump my gear at home, then off to Wembley!

But the season always has "holiday opportunities" built in. I usually wait for the fixture list to come out then find some back-to-back away fixtures and/or international breaks and book something up. You can easily get a couple of two-week breaks in without missing a home game. The only risks are postponed matches that get rescheduled or Sky moving matches around.

Once a year golf society with ex work mates, booked up in November when the play offs wasn't a thought. So I wont be at Wembley, will be golfing .

Off to Majorca next Thursday with mates. I’m in two minds. I have been a crap fan and only been a few games so I can’t really get upset about it…

On the other hand, they don’t come round very often. Tricky.
if you're near Alcudia ill look out for you - i fly out tomorrow with the family

We are off to Cornwall in the motorhome on Thursday, it's our daughters University expo on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday...I am going on Friday and on Saturday catching the train from Truro to Paddington, staying with my son in New Cross going to the game and going back down to Truro on the train on Monday...Meanwhile my wife who is very understanding will be planning how she gets her revenge...

Not quite in keeping with the thread, but I missed the 2019 game as I had tickets to take my daughter to Slam Dunk Festival in Hatfield. She is now a season ticket holder and fully understands the sacrifice I made that day - so much so that 6 years on it is still referenced in some way on every Birthday. Father's Day or Xmas card.

I booked a family holiday without thinking properly when we were 19th I think. I’ll literally be in the air on the way back at kick off.

Fucking gutted, but thrown too much money at it now.

I’m hoping that I get another chance to see us at Wembley. The other two occasions I’ve been there with Charlton have been some of the best days of my life

That's why I went to the one in Leeds the day before and flew down the morning of the game!
