Whatever be about the final result of this season, I'm really proud of CAFC, and also really proud for chosing them as my favourite british football club among all. This is real football, these are real feelings, not another mediatic and commertial club as many others are.

I'd hate a penalty shootout and wouldn'tbe able to handle it. I think 80,000 people in the ground would probably feel the same.

Playoff final penalty shootout is an unbelievable weight on the shoulders.

nearer it comes the more nervous pessimistic i get i can already see it 10 mins out 2 or 3-0 to the O's lots of Charlton departing as the east end slaaags start Ole'ing every pass , sickening end to the season , you've been warned ... prep the kids

i'll still be roaring us on louder than 99% of our fanbase so lets be having you

Watching back the Sky highlights from Thursday - emergency surgery needed to Allez Allez Allez needed for Sunday!

During the pitch invasion, crowd full volume, belted out -

    Every Saturday we follow
The boys in red and white
    [volume drops like a stone]
    [some mumbles about dynamite]

    Sam Bartram Jimmy Seed
    They won the FA Cup
I know you wont believe us
    The reds are going up

(Now?) we've got Nathan Jones (?)
    We're fuckin' dynamite

    (I think)

I think it'll feel closer than the Sunderland team game did.

I've got a dilemma as I too fancied Orient and got 7/1 for them to be promoted, now being offered cash out. Don't know whether to take it and enjoy the game or let it run to get the compensation value. First world problem really i suppose.
Cash out, we win, you don't lose.
The cash out is being offered at an equivalent of 5/2. Im feeling pessimistic so inclined to hold on to it for now I think.
Will you make a profit by cashing out?
Being offered 80, from a stake of 25. If they beat us I collect 200.

Just leave it in there. Disappointment insurance. If we win, you won’t care.

Got a horrible feeling for Sunday, previous finals we’ve been the lesser supported club, and don’t recall as much rubbish being thrown at us from the other fans, but a lot of our lot giving it the biggun re bigger sales etc, it just feels all wrong,
    really hope I’m wrong. 🔴⚪️

We're the big boys, which brings with its own expectations. One look at the home attendances highlights this

    L Orient 8,571
    Wycombe 6,585
    Stockport 10,592
    Charlton 25,722

PWR - Probably mentioned on the thread
    From Orient official site
https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2025/may/20/update-on-sky-bet-league-one-play-off-final-tickets/ - Orient supporters buying tickets need to be registered on Orient site, similarly to Charlton. It says to stop Charlton supporters buying tickets but also means that WHU or other clubs can't buy, so ultimately a good thing. As a Charlton supporter, would not want to sit in an Orient section. Imagine Charlton scoring and not being able to celebrate like crazy ????

    When can (Orient supporters) buy?

From 10am on Tuesday, 20 May: 24/25 Season Card Holders (6 tickets per SCH) and OneOrient Plus Members (3 tickets per member)

From 10am on Wednesday 21st May to 5pm Friday 23rd May: All fans on database before May 19th (6 tickets per person)

Orient will be in their away grey kit for Wembley

    ------
Fingers crossed that more tickets become available for Charlton supporters very soon.

Playing with the pro’s and con’s to work out how I think this game will go and some things stick out to me.

It’s well known Orient struggle with set pieces and they use WWE tactics to try and nullify them. With VAR they won’t be able to. This is key, corners, free kicks in and around the box are massive. TC and Small can cause havoc running at them from wide.

Crosses from open play will also be key…but whenever Small goes outside and dinks one back, TC is under it and he has a 100% non compete agreement with himself on aerial matters.
From open play crosses, we need a midfielder who will run into the gap behind Godden when he clears the CB by running the front post (did it every time vs Wycombe, Gilbert + Doc watched from the edge). Berry can but is he fit enough? Karoy can definitely get about the pitch and arrives late into the box often - but doesn’t quite hit the marks when starting vs coming on.

Exploiting Sean Clare in midfield, he’s athletic but not a smart footballer by any means. He’s committed, can be aggressive (to his detriment, giving a way silly fouls) but you can also steal a yard from him regularly when he needs to mark in both open play and at set plays.

I haven’t even got to Galbraith, Donley, Kelman and Agyei yet! Lot more backwards and forwards to go before Sunday me thinks!

Got a taxi to London City Airport this morning, the cab driver was an Orient fan (I live out in Essex).

He said he’s quietly confident, feels that the team have just been getting better and better over the last 10 games. He said they perform when Donley turns up.

Said their weak link is REG.

When he was talking about their players, the more confident I became, if we show up we have the better players. I also think we have more experience when it comes to the big occasions (Godden, Berry, Macca etc).

Stockport only have themselves to blame for not making the final , 2-0 to the mighty Charlton
And the linesman for one of the worst ever offside decisions to be fair to them
True , but Orient should have had a pen as well , the two missed chances for Stockport in 2nd leg where shocking, you’ve gotta put at least one of them away .

Edwards long throws should also be an advantage too then I guess.

The good news is that I've got my wife a ticket. In approx 35 charlton games she's never seen us lose.

Same here - 8 years together and unbeaten in 10 I think including Wembley in 2019
