Partly down to unrolled 2nd innings pitches, I think all div two bats suffered.MVP has scored 1900 in the last two seasons in FC cricket at 40, he has also played many a useful innings in limited over cricket, he will be a huge loss in that middle order.
750 runs last season at 30 is not good enough.0 -
@joed1986joe denlyThanks to everyone for the messages of support. Not an easy decision for me as I have so many great friends and memories at Kent......

Can't blame either player for wanting to get away. Not only do kent not have any money they also seem a long way from building a decent side.0

The only good news is that Farbrace is leaving.
Are you sure?I think the rot at Kent is deeper than the coach and suggest that even the cricketing equivalent of Sir Alex Ferguson would struggle at Kent the way things are.

I'm not sure progress has been made in any area under Farbrace. I'm not blaming him entirely i think you are correct in suggesting bigger problems exist behind the scenes. However he must have been on quite a big wage and perhaps we can save some money and bring in a younger coach? If we are going fail might as well do it on a minimal budget.

He did, retired over the weekend due to loss of form and feeling he was unable to carry on competing.0

Projected loss for 2011 in last annual report : £400,000.
Declared operating profit: £188,000.
Difference in two figures: £588,000.
Add in the ECB grant of £800,000 received in 2011 towards the new dressing rooms etc and you get the true picture.
