As we are in the modern era of Loan players ( although not so much this time ) !! - who have been the 3 best / worst loan players we have seen at CAFC ?

Best - Alex Song, Graeme Murty and Scott Carson

Worst - Scott Sinclair, Lee Cook and Tom Soares.

Alex Song has turned into a pretty decent player but when we had him I was really unimpressed. He seemed lazy and uninterested. Surprised to see him in people's lists to be honest.

    Mike Small from West Ham
    Tom Hovi from HamKam(?) FC

I'll leave everyone to decide if they come under 'best' or 'worst'

  • Alan Kernaghan was class but I don't see how you can go past Jorge "The Tank" Costa.

Don't forget, the bloke went on to captain a Champions League winning team (Porto) after he left us - will that ever happen again?

  • carlton cole was ok wen with us

Remember thinking Kevin Scott was dreadful, for a centre back who was about 6ft3 he barely won a header.

Will always think fondly of Neil Heaney

El khalej was on loan, and the worst player I have ever seen.  Excluding those who signed afterwards, Costa has to be the best.  I also have fond memories of Neil Heaney, not least because of the Playoff finals.
  • Carlton Cole was poo! Terrible at us.

    Best either Carson or Costa

Worst probably Lee Cook not that he is a bad player but he was injured and never match fit.

Someone showed me a West Ham news site with the headline "Coco goes back" after he went back to us. Poor old Sasa, when he was good he was very good but when he was bad.....
  • he played in there london masters team...
  • Jorge Costa was the best loan signing by a mile!

Also, wasn't it supposed to be part of the Parker deal that we got Cole back on loan for the next season - until he told us to fuck off.

I'm doing mine based on the impact they had on the team rather than overall ability, so no Noubles or Ikemes in mine. Costa, Carson and Smertin were the best for me. Cook, Cranie and Halford the worst. Halford scored a few but cost us twice as many. Between them those three cost us so many points

Carlton Cole was utter shite when he was with us.

i was a mere 13 year old who loved strikers... my memory isnt great from then, just thort id put it out there
  • dennis bailey failed to live up to the 'hat-trick at old trafford' billing.
