Dont get me wrong, i love christmas etc etc but come on, people who live around the corner from me have all the decorations and lights up already! Its only 17th November for god sake! I understand why Oxford St etc have their lights up because of Tourists but in a road in Welling is a bit over-the-top.

I remember when you couldn't have Christmas adverts till December - they are on all the time now!!!
  • first advert was in August for Xmas.

  • Oh man, I am so with you on that.

We should, by law, have set times for all things seasonal in a retail situation - no eggs before 3 weeks to Easter, no Christmas dec's, until 1/12. In my dictatorship that would happen.

I actually quite lke Christmas, ultimately who doesn't, but by the time we get there we're basically all bored beyond belief by it now...

Anyone with a DAB radio should be able to pick up Smooth Xmas - a station playing Christmas songs 24 hours a day.

It has been on air since the beginning of the month. Bah humbug...

  • Bliss Music Channel is Xmas'd up too.

I have no problems with adverts being on in November to promote xmas gifts/food etc but Xmas decorations down a residential street shouldnt be allowed until at least 1st December.

Coca Cola "Holidays are coming" advert really should be remade, not even shot in Widescreen its that old. Also that advert shouldnt be shown until early December. Not 12th November during X-Factor.
  • Corporate cola:  Baaaaaaaaaaarstards!

    I love Christmas.

I especially like all the Christmas traditions, new and old, that we see every year.

    1. Moans about shops having Xmas stock too early

    2. Moans about Xmas lights too early

    3. Moans about over commercialisation of Xmas

    4. Moans about true spirit of Xmas being overlooked

    5. Moans about unavailability of "must have" Xmas toy or game

    6. Moans about using Xmas not Christmas

    7. Moans about Advent calenders

    8. Moans about Christmas being "banned"

    9.  Even more moans about Christmas being "banned" even when it's been proved it hasn't and there are decs and Christmas stuff everywhere you look.

    10. Moans about Christmas being "boring" and only for kids

Print off this list and see how soon you can complete the set

I recommend putting a big burning cross on their lawn.

I saw Waitrose offering their party food trays last night BOGOF. Surely they'd be off by the time you have your Christmas party?

That'd be me. I'd quite cheerfully sod off and ignore the whole thing but the wife is very keen on it for some reason so we have to go through Christmas By Numbers every year. Same things with same people every bloody year.

    BAH HUMBUG!!

I love Christmas and everything about it in todays world.

The food, the drink, parties, buying presents, old films, old TV specials like Likely Lads, Porridge, Good Life etc. I like the trees, the lights, the old songs. All of it. I even watch some sort of nativity programme if I can find one.

I remember one year at school we were all told to bring something into class that was associated with Christmas. Someone brought in holly, someone brought in a mince pie and I bought in a pair of knickers. What have they got to do with Christmas? The teacher asked me.

    They're Carols! I said.

I have no problem with "Xmas", as long as it is pronounced Christmas. That is the point of XMAS it is an abbreviation of the word Christmas when writing/typing etc.

Has the house down by Ruxley roundabout got theirs up yet? I cringe everytime I go past there at this time of year. My only consolation being the thought of their electric bil.

I don't think they bothered last year - maybe they had to sell up to pay the leccy!

think they might have moved, last year's were nothing special, like those that had moved in had made a half hearted attempt to keep it going

The X stands for Christ - because that's how he used to sign his name.

I love it and like to make it last as long as possible, which is why in our house we start listening to carols in October.  (This isn't a joke.)
