Which font?

I work for a small community development project and we want to change our font from Arial to ?
Which font would be best for being easily readable and professional looking?
I tend towards Trebuchet, any other ideas would be appropriate.
Thanks

Might be worth checking out the bobby website for guides on accessibility. Not sure how up-to-date this is.

I read an article recently about how a font reveals character, image etc. - a bit like handwriting used to. As the person with the worst handwriting in the world, I tend to use Calibri which is nice and neat in my opinion. However, based on the article I read, it depends whether you want to appear modern, solid, trendy etc. and as someone who knows nothing about community development projects I can't comment. Try googling, it will have been discussed on marketing forums.

I too use Calibri, point size 11.

If you want a graphic designer salivating, Helvetica is the one to go for.
It's like porn to some of them.0 -
+1. The best looking font of the lot. Pt sz 10 is too small, 12 is too big, 11 is spot on.I too use Calibri, point size 11.

Calibri is the way forward, the Chris Solly of the type font world, not the biggest or the showiest, but neat and compact and does the job.0

Calibri is the new Windows standard for san-serif, and it is very nice. I also like Century Gothic, little bit rounder.

Calibri 11 here too, although also used to dabble with Verdana 11 in the CAFC days.0

How are you going to use it (ie what software) and how are you intended it to be read (ie letters, internet, email).
A lot of fonts work well in different medium and in different colours / on different backgrounds.
We use Trebuchet for the website and word (sometimes Calibri) and antiqua for promotional materials / leaflets etc.

`I know a number of schools have a policy of using comic sans, on the basis that it is believed to be the easiest to read for children with reading difficulties.

Calibri is my personal fave however you need to bear in mind you are limited to about 7 fonts if you are including your website in the equation. Too specialist a font won't work on all PC's and then it starts to look really chuddy
Please also note that Comic Sans is a hangable offence and is cause for disciplinary proceedings here
