For what reason would you not want him to win it?

Errr...cos I don't want a return to normality after a good spell, nor do I want a curse.

But the manager of the month award doesn't cause the return to normality, it's just what is expected.

If two teams win 5 games in a month, scoring 20 goals and conceding 0, it's basically going to be a coin toss between them to see which manager gets the award. One manager winning it doesn't mean it's more likely that the side he manages will return to normality, whereas the other team will continue to outperform. That just makes no sense.

Really? For really reals? Gosh, I wish I'd realised that earlier.
  • I've always disliked these 'of the month' awards, just save them for the end of the season. Having a good month is totally irrelevant in the context of a season.

It's a bit like watching the first 10 minutes of a film and giving it an Oscar for 'best opening 10 minutes'. Then the rest of the film is load of shit.

Powell nominated for Manager of the Month and Morrison nominated for Player of the Month

I can understand Powell but how the hell did Morrison get nominated for PoM ? He really is shit, even the massive wendys & the real manager of the month/year/decade decided that he wasn't good enough for a mid table team.

Come on sort it out Llera is the best centre back in league 1

I think the fact that Sir Chris would probably have come runner up in every previous month means that he will almost certainly get the nod this time. Glad Morrison got nominated- he has been immense.

MK Dons won all 4 games aswell

    our results 5-2 v preston, 4-0 Halifax, 1-0 Brentford and 2-0 v Huddersfield

    MK's results 3-1 v Rochdale, 6-0 v Nantwich, 5-1 v Colchester and 4-3 vs Wycombe.

Even though they have scored more goals surley Chris Powell has to win it for ending Huddersfield unbeaten run of 788 games.

Do they take into account the cup games? Thought it was only league games.

    Powell will win it comfortably.

The judging panel for the npower Manager of the Month awards comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
  • Ta - that's a random bunch

Can't see it going to anyone but Powell - 100% record, broke Hudds non record and 7 points clear

well done to both, nice little Christmas present!

  • If we got to Christmas - several points clear and only 1 defeat but not having won the manager of the month at all there would be huge outcry from the anti-racism brigade as well as the common sense brigade

So common sense and anti-racism are two separate things? D'oh!

    Well done CP and MM.

There is no negative spin you can put on being named the best manager in a month.
