Ok seeing as we have an underrated movie thread we should have an Overrated one too.

To make this list a film has to have been successful and probably over hyped but when you saw it you couldn't help but be disappointed.

I will start it off with a film that lots of people loved but i absolutely hated.

Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind.

     Another awful Jim Carrey movie.
  • Mamma Mia*

Jeez, the way some women go on about how great this film is you would think it was a modern classic instead of the biggest pile of steaming doodoo of the last 10 years. We were discussing this in the pub and not one of us (blokes) could name a worse film in that period.

*in saying this I have only watched 10 minutes, so maybe the other 80 was brilliant, in which case I stand corrected.

I've never come across anyone saying that the remakes of the Italian Job or Pelham 123 are particularly good.

    Mr & Mrs Smith.

Worst film i have ever been forced to sit through. I was offended at work when someone tried to reccomend it to a colleague and i don't like the person who was going to buy it. Wouldn't wish it on my enemie's is a strong statement.

'Outdoor Swedish Milfs - Double Penetration compilation 2' - came highly recommended but i thought it was overrated. Too predictable with not enough imagination used by the director, which was a shame.

I've never come across anyone saying that the remakes of the Italian Job or Pelham 123 are particularly good.

That's because the originals were both so good they should have never been remade.  Even if the remakes were good films (and I don't believe they are), it would still be like comparing the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with a photocopy of someone pointing their finger.   The second versions just sully the memory of the originals.
