I am on the 8.25 and coming back on the 19.39! Have called Barnsley just now and the woman said there is no reason the game should be called off as they have undersoil heating. She was a bit miffed methinks. Barnsley v Birmingham and Sheff Utd v Wycombe, Utd have undersoil heating as wellI can't do another Saturday without Charlton
I have advance purchase tickets so will be committed to going tomorrow if still on overnight. Can see myself at Bramall Lane. Hope game called off today to make things easier!
Same here mate! Thing is i'm totally skint at the moment, don't know whats worse, losing £55 on the advanced bought ticket and train or spending an extra £50 if the game is on!

I live a little further South than Chesterfield (Leicestershire) but work in Nottingham and the forecast yesterday was for 5-10 cm of snow maybe as much as 20 cm (whatever that is in old money!!) in all 3 of those areas, however I can report that we only had a light dusting and its all gone now, but temps tonight on local weather forecast that also covers Chesterfield is -4 to -5, so it will be the temps I guess that may postpone the game.0

My understanding is that it varies from company to company. If you have a non-refundable ticket then that is it. However sometimes you can change the times of the tickets for an admin charge.
Why they do not give refunds I can only put down to an administration nightmare, which I can understand...to a point

Just spoke to someone in Chesterfield, they had i quote "a light dusting". However it is cold and therefore the snow from the weekend has not thawed, on the local radio this the club are very very keen for the game to go ahead. On the radio is said that 2,000 Charlton were expected, but a midweek game would be bring as many away fans. The roads and pavements in the town itself are clear.0

So if the game is called off we basically want the weather to be as bad as possible so the trains get cancelled anyway and we get our money back ?0

Possibly something to ponder for those of you with advance tickets and hotel bookings - if any of you have annual travel insurance policies, is it possible to make a claim under that? I just checked mine and it does list UK under the countries covered. I'm guessing probably not possible, but thought it was worth mentioning just in case.0

Because they are cheaper. It's like a gamble, book early and you get a good price and they are guranteed some money. They won't get paid as much as they do on the day but then may not sell all their tickets anyway.0 -

This is a tricky one to call , chances are it will be called off due to a frozen pitch at 1pm today? (Pitch inspection mentioned on the Cafc Website at 1pm).
The thing is even if it is playable at 1pm today , if the temperature is going to go lower overnight , it could deteriorate even further.0 -

Stating the bleeding obvious i know , Its not worth risking playing it if players are going to get injured. would hate to see Danny Hollands , or any of them out for weeks on end.

I've written the trainfares off to be honest. If its on I'll spend the best part of a ton on an allday bender. If its off, I'm 40 quid down but will get a refund on my match ticket and will spend much less on a local evening out.0

There is no way the game will be on.
Don't take these forecasts too literally. They are based on big computer models which then get applied to the centre point of a cell in a grid. The grid squares can be large! They take very little account, if any, of local conditions. For instance, from memory their old ground was on the top of a hill where the temps, particularly overnight, could be many degrees higher than in a nearby valley. So, they are an indication but could be wide of the mark.

I would have thought the difference between the crowd tomorrow and the crowd for a Tuesday night game, plus wasted programmes, refreshments etc would probably come to about £25k.0 -
