E# - For League One

Many of the baseball fans on here will probably know what this is, but if you don't know, let me explain:
"E#" means "Elimination Number" and is a device used in MLB league tables to indicate how close a team is to securing their divisional championship.
Every team except the league leaders have an "E#". This number effectively represents how many games it will take to ensure that that team cannot overtake the league leaders.
Importantly, the number is made up of the sum of number of wins for the leaders plus defeats by the trailing side that are required to ensure the trailing side cannot overhaul the leader.
Sounds confusing, but it's an interesting stat as the season draws to a close because you start counting down the games.
Anyway, I thought people might find it interesting for Charlton's season this year. I've had to tweak it slightly to accomodate draws and I've ignored goal difference, so the magic number will only be reached if the leading team can't be caught in points.

It's just a device to aid with the countdown. As the season goes on, teams will gradually become eliminated until (hopefully) they all are. It's not going to change the world and I've shamelessly nicked it from MLB. I just find it interesting every year in the baseball close season.

HAd my own sheet that counted down to avoid the drop but gave up on this season. i will happy look at it if you publish more.
So looking at this we need to win 5 more games to be safe from the drop.0 -

I like this. I always get confused working out how many points are needed in the run in.
