Can we have a decent reason why some threads are getting sunk?

I don't mind if the thread is offensive or spam, but just sinking one, cause a moderator can't be arsed with it, or doesn't feel engaged with the content, is wrong, and a bit annoying, let threads die naturally, and don't keep sinking them, when a moderator feels like they need to excert some editorial control over a messageboard

    have absolutely no idea why that was sunk!
    i dont read loads of posts on here as have no interest but this one was. people were putting arguments across well i thought... tho i could feel the smoke coming out of Stu's ears. you can imagine him running outside for a couple of fags in between!

    I'd like to know too, I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

    We have presently got nearly all Charlton related stuff covered. Nicky Weaver - check. Pre season games - check. Signings so far - check. The list goes on, I don't think it was doing any harm.

    I assumed AKFA as a smoker had oppressed to non smokers, i didn't realise there were other admin here.

    ace, normally have to pay good money for that kind of treatment. Nah not really i didnt sink it, but wanted to. I have never sunk nowt! I just said it was boring me and then logged off.

    when people that only log on at the weekend, and would like to put their comments about the smoking ban on here...... they won't find it to do so and start a new one......(hardly anyone searches!)

    Can I just suggest, to anyone still interested in any sunk thread, that you can bookmark it (link in the control panel on the left). That way, you will be kept up to date when new comments are added even when the thread slips off of the first page. That's helpful isn't it?

    I haven't even looked at the activity on the Smoking thread today, so can't comment. I'll look at it, but I'm certainly not going to over rule whoever did sink it. I think that would be a bit off.

    Well you could always go there instead!

    When i used to work in a shop, i would have these people come in and say 'its 20p cheaper down the road' my reply was always 'Well go on then go there then instead of wasting my time.'

    Maybe it would be off. But someone has chosen to sink it out of spite, as they don't like it personally. Numerous people want it reinstated, so appease the majority.

    to be honest. i think the majority don't care. there are only about 8 people talking about it.

    lets just move on. it can carry on, its not going to be unsunk, no point having threads moaning about other threads. debate on that about smoking or non and lets get over it.

    I would cheer up, if threads weren't being locked for no reason. Was there a gain to sinking it?? The majority might not care, but there was enough people posting for it not to require sinking.
