[cite]Posted By: LoOkOuT[/cite]Can I just suggest, to anyone still interested inanysunk thread, that you can bookmark it (link in the control panel on the left). That way, you will be kept up to date when new comments are added even when the thread slips off of the first page. That's helpful isn't it?

Not a nice way to talk to Lookout is it?

@cunning... you did write locked. I edited your post, but only to remove the quote of the previous post. You tend to quote in every post you make. Often there is no need to quote, especially when the comment you are quoting is directly above your own post. Excessive quoting makes discussions more difficult to follow. It's one of my pet peeves, so I edit such comments for clarity. Nothing sinister here.

Leaving a front door unlocked could lead to a loss of valuable items.

Apologies Lookout. I am half asleep here. I retract above statement and will promise not to quote unless necessary.

I didn't sink it- i know who did and agreed with them-

Lookout can/should correct me if i'm wrong but the purpose of sinking it is so that if a thread has become a conversation between two people then the converstaion can continue without bouncing to the top of everyones screen.

As lookout says, all you have to do is either carry on teh conversation by whisper or bookmark it.

agreed with them? and what was the reason this person gave?

It was carried out between 4 of us, with others still contributing.

Its a little cowardly that people are trusted with this "power" but can't put their hand up and say themselves "I've sunk it because ..."

Its not going to result in the mafia turning up at their house or any assassination attempts is it? I can't see why this person has to hide the fact they did it.

also, i requested that cunning's irritating joke post got sunk the other day and my plea was ignored. why was that?

    Suzi.

In order for the world to progress, we need to learn from our mistakes. If theres something occured in that thread that warrants sinking, then fine. What was it and why? Coming from 3rd parties doesn't wash with most people on most things.

To be fair, I'm starting to realise that you're right. It won't be "unsunk" and we'll have to move on.

I will tell you why cunning, its because it was becomming a tedius 2 or 3 way conversation. Thats why there is the sink option. I cant see what difference it makes to you cunning as it wasnt pulled completely, it was just sunk so the 3 of you could carry on bickering.

What difference will it make if you find out who sunk it, that will help how?

You mean to say in 173 jokes, you had heard them all 50 times before?

Alright then Curb it, give us a joke here to lighten the mood.

It won't in any way make a difference. I'm not really that fussed. Just pointing out the difference between something coming "1st party" and "3rd" party.

this is my point of view and not represetive of anyone else!

the thread was predominantly between 2 of you, and it was going round in circles. you both are never going to agree. i would guess that people had stopped reading 2 pages back as everyone had their say early on. there were a few people keeping up with it, myself included, and although i wasn't reading every comment, i was skim reading it. as was t, curb it and probably a few others.

i think it was deemed to have reached the end of its life and because it was only of interest to a small few, it was thought best to sink and therefore still left open for those to carry on debating amongst themselves and not get in the way of other newer fresher topics that others were discussing.

unfortunately a gripe of mine is those who have no interest in a thread posting "zzzzzzzzzzzz" on it and calling for it to be sunk, because it is of no interest to them. this then causes more friction and issues than if the thread had been left.

i reckon the thread was near the end of its life as it was anyway, and by those posting yawns on it, it being sunk and now threads about sinking, its got more publicity than it did have 3 hours ago! no one has posted on it for ages!

anyway, its friday afternoon, everyone should chill out and think about their plans for the weekend.

2 Pages on why a thread that had got down to two people discussing something was sunk... jeez.
