Anyone near the front of the NWQ know what was going on?
Looked like Hamer had family in the stand who he wanted on the pitch with him and the steward wasn't having it,
when Other family members were being allowed on for the other players.
Sorry for another depressing thread on a great day, just curious as to what was going on.

Sad to see the end of this great season but looking forward to the next.

Sullivan was trying to get a friend or family member on the pitch and a jobsworth was having none of it. It was embarrassing behaviour from the steward and the crowd let him know it .

Indeed, I believe the crowd accused the man of being a frequent masturbator.

the players were told if they wanted family and friends on the pitch they would have to enter from the side of pitch next to jimmy seed stand, because how can the steward differentiate between friend and fans, storming the pitch

But must say even though this statement was issued to players, was a bit harsh

I doubt the players would be picking out random fans and pleading with the stewards to let them on.

'Hamer, knock him out. Hamer, Hamer, knock him out' was a particular favourite.

My son sat behing Sullivan's parents in NW quadrant so presumed it was family/friends job.

Steward needs to get a different job.

sullivans nephew(he had 13 uncle john on back of shirt) and some other kids were allowed on from that corner and i presume the parents were who they were trying to get on too

gotta be some room for some common sense to be used in these situations surely

no i mean we the club already in trouble for pitch invasion, and if they let families on from side no fans could get on, but if they opened the part hamer wanted his friends and hundreds of other fans would flood the pitch, the steward was doing his job, hamer has already received a caution for his part in the carlise pitch invasion

Cobblers. Common sense should have prevailed.

there is no gate at the front there in the nwq and they let children on from there , so the adults that sully or hamer requested doesn't mean a free for all

Joke from the steward. No common sense. That reality pissed me off. The kid from north lower ran straight for the student... only to run into a massive police officer.

Agree but most stewards are as thick as s#it & haven't got a clue.

The steward would have been in touch with the security room, who could have told him to let the players hasve their way, the players also seemed to be taslking to someone who looked more senior than the initial guy involved asnd he did nothing so masybe it was not one individual being a prastt but the whole suceurity set up.

The only good thing about that incident was that it showed the comeraderie between the two keepers.

Surely it isn't a crime to use common sense -poor show really. Was it a steward or a policeman? I was a bit far away.

Fair enough common sense should have prevailed but why do we have to make reference to him as a 3.50 an hour numbskull

He is doing what he is told to do

I'm, personally, not sure of the logistics of the players families (and not just partners and children - there was many teenagers running around the pitch) coming on and taking it in turns having their photo taken with the cup while half of the fans left before the cup was paraded around the ground.

Surely they could have had their photo's taken aft the fans had left?

I know I'll get slated for this, but in the end the cup wasn't brout 'round by the team it was carried 'round by three players after the rest had gone. It also meant that the ground was mostly empty by the time Powell made his speech, which I missed as I thought it was all over.

I guess it doesn't really matter, but I would have thought a lap of honour by the players and the cup before the families came on the pitch would have been better.

    Moan over.

Maybe KHA , but their families have had to put up with a lot , i didn't mind really , you can always find something to moan about ( not you personally).

I agree too that the players ( without families ) doing a lap would have been much better for us but who can deny them sharing the moment with their families .
