Cricket didn't really have a suitable format until 20/20, but now that it does and it's participation levels around the world, it surely deserves inclusion.
As for out, I'd cut the number of swimming events by half.

They could introduce professional wrestling and let me write the storylines - Team GB would clean up!

  • The problem with including cricket is that you need cricket pitches - and I wonder how many Rio has of those?

Out: I'd get rid of either synchronised swimming and/or rthymic gymnastics, both a re pretty to watch but pointless.

If you're going to say football, you should consider that for the Women's game its still as important as the World Cup

You could easily make a cricket pitch in a park with a temporary stand around it. 20/20 is quite an exciting game and would enhance the Olympics I suspect.

I was just about to say the exact same thing

Kabaddi is just such a fantastic sport - it should be played on every beach in summertime Britain. I played it twice weekly for 5 years or so, and the best players are simply amazing.

Synchronised strong beer drinking could be good to watch and become more challenging as the rounds progress.
