Joey Barton in France

Possibly the weirdest transfer of the summer. Who reckons it'll go well ? Bit surprised Marseille opted for him tbh full stop, even if it is on loan, considering he can't play bar europa league for 12 games.
French refs are known for being stupidly strict so he's gonna struggle surely.

-
It will be fine, just a holiday for him
agro will start back up when/if he comes back over here0 -

Funnier than the wally with the brolly talking pigeon anglo-dutch.0

Joeeeieee goes native .. vive le Scouse0
-
Why as an Englishman would you speak in your native tongue with a French drawl?............Only Joey Barton which confirms he is a few slices short of a full loaf.0
-
He reckons they would have had trouble understanding his Scouse accent. Why he thought adding a French twang would help I don't know.
Only yesterday he told the world he was too intelligent to be a footballer.0 -
"The English media is boring" - that idiot has pretty much spent half his life trying to get into the English media!0

He does seem to confuse intelligence with having read a few things in books and repeating them, just like when he was suddenly a philosopher.

Cringe-tastic0

Would be like Yann Kermorgant suddenly putting on a cockney accent.
Joey Barton, what a tit.0 -
I quite like him! Like marmite you'll either love him or hate him! Speaks a lot of truth that other pro's dont imo0

Interviewed on French tv tonight, still a muppet0

I like Barton find him funny, you need characters in football to make it more interesting.
Harry Redknapp
Roy Keane
A couple of people who I enjoy listening to.0 -
I really wouldnt call him a character, players like Savage are characters who leave it on the pitch, then people like Barton who are vile and ignorant off it as much as on it.
