Praying for good weather on Friday. Got the day off and we're desperate to take the twins there. Should be less busy as the schools will be back

Can't believe people are surprised at Dover, it's been like that for years !
  • Love Broadstairs. You can't judge a place by the undesirables which occasionally visit it. That happens everywhere, sadly.

There's another fantastic sandy beach at Birchington - little known about, but bigger sands than Broadstairs and much, much quieter...
  • minis bay mate, love it There.

  • Big long shot but does anyone know of a holiday letting in broadstairs that 6 people can stay with a pet from 26th December to 2nd January? Looked on a few websites with no luck. Or if anyone knows of somewhere similar? Ideally we'd like to go Broadstairs as we love it there.
  • PM me if you do.

What sort of place are you after? My parents still live there and will probably be able to recommend somewhere.

Broadstairs was a wonderful place to visit on family fortnights holiday back in the 60's, I can even remember our old landlady's name, Mrs Ponsford, she had a B&B in the town, and every day we would go to the beach in our chalet armed with a bag of finger rolls and various fillings.
The worst part was the 100 odd steps down to the beach and back up, although you could cheat and use the cliff cable lift as an alternative...the penny arcade was the place to go as a kid, and Morelli's ice cream parlour...fishing from the pier...donkey rides...🤔
Anyway, enough reminiscing, haven't been for a number of years, must go back again sometime...maybe👍

Stayed in the apartments through that door on the right a few times.

Tartar Frigate just round the corner is a decent pub.

Oh that’s good to know (about the pub). We’re heading down there next weekend, planning on it being our first destination for food and (hopefully decent) beer.
