Not to hijack this thread, but there's a video floating round of Ian Wright being interviewed where he talks about his shit childhood. My relationship with my stepfather wasn't far off Wright's, thankfully, I haven't seen my real father since I was about six (though I know he's back poncing off my Mum every now and then I've told her I want nothign to do with the c***). What I like about Dan is that we have a load of games and we still have plenty coming up in the next 2 weeks. He has been involved lots and he still wants to be on that pitch, he still wants to play every second.

I think he finally got fit but fell out of favour, got sold to stripeys and found his form. Great goal by Danny, gutted for him, hurry back. Perhaps we need to find that previous specialist that diagnosed Darren.

If he can get a long term solution to his hamstring problems i think he can go on to be a very good striker and potentially a premiership one. He has a strange running style - whether that is a result of his tight hamstrings or a cause, i don't know but i think the bloke who suggested that not playing him so often isn't far off. That isn't ideal obviously but he's that important to us that it does need managing and if BWP can play like he did against Derby, maybe him and Haynes can alternate - any other combination has no pace and is blunt.0

To be fair to ColinTat, there is an argument that Haynes and his obvious proneness to injury needs to be managed better and two games in four days, regardless of how well he did for the half an hour against Derby, is not ideal.0

But suddenly Powell's a "fool of a manger" for playing him, the same way he would no doubt have been a "fool of a manager" if he didn't play him.

I think hamstrings are notoriously unpredictable and can go at any time. Playing him less is unlikely to beneficial to him or us. Maybe they need to look at his diet!0

It seems that players with lots of pace are prone to hamstring problems e.g. Michael Owen. Maybe Usain Bolts adviser may be able to help.0
