Players who flopped after leaving us.

It was injury which forced Jensen to retire. I don't think that really counts as a "flop" does it? Incidentally I saw him not so long ago in my local hospital in Copenhagen. He and I were both going for an x-ray (seems that he's the same old Claus!).Danny Addick said:Jensen
He is still one of my Charlton heroes mind.0 -
Thanks for making me feel old!LenGlover said:I must concede that my grandfather, Fred Lucas, flopped rather badly at Palarse. Ended up rowing with the club over him not being able to play due to a leg injury he sustained. However, is that a bad thing (to flop at *THEM*)?
I watched your grandfather play!.
:-)
Great days fred at inside right and Ronnie White at outside right are they still alive and well0 -
Shouldn't this thread include players who flopped after signing for us?0
-
I think of all the players I have watched over the years you have to say Killer at Derby and he hardly set things alight at Wet Spam either0

Lloyd Sam has just signed another lucrative deal with New York RedBulls playing along side Henry, Cahill, Juninho amongst others now as a person setting out to earn a living as a professional sportsman I dont see that as failing.Folev the red said:Andy Reid flopped after leaving. So has Lloyd Sam.
Shelvey flopped it out after leaving us.0 -
Plus, Sam played two seasons in the CCC with Leeds whilst we languished in League One.Ashaddick said:

After he left us Anthony Barness went to Bolton, won promotion to the Premier League, and spent four seasons with them in the top flight of English football.ashley said:John Pearson ,jimmy melrose, Anthony Barness,Paul Mortimer, joe Mac Laughlin ,David whyte :all good players while with us but none of them did anything elsewhere after us .
He also went on to marry an incredibly attractive female of the species....but apart from that.....!0 -

Joe McLauchlin a good player? He was toilet despite playing alongside the superb Colin Pates who went on to have a distinguished career in Arsenal reserves.0

Although to be fair, Fortune was already a crock when he left Charlton the first time.Norfolk_Addick said:Fortune

McLaughlin went to Watford for about 300K, so we lost money on him. He started OK in 89/90 but fell away and was nowhere near the player that Shirtliff had been for the previous three years.harveys gardener said:Joe McLauchlin a good player? Pates was a huge loss but I don't think we had any choice at the time.0 -
Dare I mention Killer? That's both times in left us.0

Has Darren Bent been mentioned?0

Ferencvaros I think. They beat Man Yoo 1-0 in Budapest then bravely went down 6-0 or something in the second leg.Sasa Ilic. Went on loan to WHU; let in four goals (I think it was four - and all of them his fault) in his only game for them and got sent straight back to us on Monday morning. Hardly played again for CAFC or anyone else, despite spending time at Portsmouth, Barnsley and Blackpool.
didnt he play in the champions league after leaving us though?
Off the top of my head, Simon Webster is my nominee.
Sasa Illic is now an actor

Bit harsh on Webster, somebody crocked him in training at Wet Spam a few months after he went there and he had to retire, he only played 5 games for them.0 -
Webbo was a great leader whilst with us.....loved his attitude. Hardly a flop as mentioned.0
