CAFC v CPFC Matchday Thread

  • I'm glad I haven't gone now - it will be defend, defend, defend just like at Millwall - all the pace & creativity is on the bench, and we know the CP doesn't like using his subs.

Do us all a favour and stop posting on here till after the game.

Could do without the misery bringing the thread down.

Are you getting the moaning in now instead of after the game? Because I could actually go for that

    OK Folks, where is RedMidland?
How shall we do this, I usually update from the 'away' perspective, and RM from the home. I don't know if it will be the same commentary on both player streams, at the moment I'm getting some kind of in house Crystal Palace preview show on their live commentary stream.
I understand BBC London are there, don't know if they are also commentating.

    Don't think they are Seth.
The BBC like Sky have forgotten we exist but as we are lucky enough to be drawn against the mighty Ego's we are....... shock horror....on't wireless!!
  • RedMidland said he would not be able to do today.Moving house or something.
  • It's my birthday. Please do it for me Charlton?

I'm concerned with it. Looks very defensive but what do I know? In SCP we trust

Must be our strongest bench for some years and there are some real options there. A bit harsh on Taylor and Kerm to be taken out but Cort will worry them on set plays and Fuller can ( unlike Yann ) self-create. Looks like he might need to but he owes us a goal or two.

  • Cheers Oggy. Surprised that Yann and Dale were omitted but perhaps Fuller has that extra spark of creating something out of nothing in a game where I suspect we won't get many chances ?

Wouldn't be surprised if Powell actually had some plans to make early subs today. He may be planning to make them attack and soak up some pressure before bringing on Haynes to run at tired players and Yann to batter what's left of them. We'll have to see

I would have thought that Stephens' ability to pass to feet suited Fuller?

So a little puzzled that Stephens isn't playing.

  • Many happy returns SHG.

I was. Not so much now. Please please prove me wrong charlton. Think palace are there for the taking today with a few key players out. Just think Stephens has been our best player lately and deserves a start

    COME ON YOU REDS!

here we go boys... This is the big one... Some people have already thrown the towel in on this one... Not me ... Powell will do what he has to ... Loads of Charlton there ... Gonnabe great ... Aparently Zaha has been on a diet of super skunk and Stella since man U have signed him ... We are looking for a gutsy draw or a sneaky win... But to be fair if the boys put in everything they've got that's all Ill ask ...

Come on the Reds of Charlton Athletic Football Club!

    When the red red robin
    Goes bob bob bobbin’
    Along, along,
    There’ll be no more sobbin’
    As he keeps throbbin’
    His old, sweet song,
Wake up, wake up, you sleepy head,
Get up, get up get out of bed,
Cheer up, cheer up, the sun is red,
Live, Love, laugh and be happy!

    What if I feel blue,
    I’ll go walking through
    Fields of flowers,
Rain may glisten but still I listen
    For hours, and hours.
    I’m like a kid again,
    Doing what I did again,
    Singing this song,
    When the Red Red Robin
    Goes Bob Bob Bobbin’ along!
