I read that Mohammed said that he wanted to come to Hillsborough instead of the Mountain going to him.soapy_jones said:I love Hillsborough. Is it true that the Taj Mahal was based on it?

Yeah I like it. Classic ground and although certain parts can be seen as dated I'd rather that than these new samey stadiums.0

What do people think of Selhurst park? Ignoring those in it.0

I like Hillsborough, probably in my top 5 of grounds to visit. Crap food though.0

close to the pitch, tight and compact as a ground should be IMO. Those are the only positive words I have to say about the place, the sainsbury's stand is a shocker.Friend Or Defoe said:What do people think of Selhurst park? Ignoring those in it.

Colchester is truly soulless. By far the most boring stadium I've been to. Vicarage Road was horrific, in terms of design, but I guess it had some kind of character?0

On a serious note, the Leppings Lane end should have been demolished and rebuilt, after the events of 1989. Having it still there, in a patched up form doesn't seem right.Friend Or Defoe said:

Its not the best I guess because the stands were built at different times but the Rous and Rookery are decent on their own as such.0 -
hilsborough is great old ground. two problems i found with it. it's a bloody arse to get to. packed into those trams.operationpig said:Just wondering what people on here think of Hillsborough? do you like it?
second being the roof leaks. (not the trams but the stadium roof.)

The minimum characteristic should be that you'd know where you were, if you dropped in the middle of it.
Haven't been to Craven Cottage in recent years, but I always liked it and am surprised it has been mentioned so often.0 -

Cheers for the sentiments regarding Hillsboro' the away end is the most out of date part of the ground as well, if we could build a new west stand here it would make it much better.

Depends where you're coming from, but Hillsborough (the area) is a very busy area I'll agree.Karim_myBagheri said:

As far as "boring" stadiums go , you can't get much worse than the new den ( or whatever it's called ) 4 identically dull stands , no character , rust and seats spelling out the name of a completely different ground .0
