    i had completely forgotten about Lloyd Sam playing for Charlton and didnt even realize Ruben Bover had. i havent seen Bover yet as he just signed within the past few weeks

    I watched the Red Bulls game against Portland Timbers the other night and was seriously impressed by the atmosphere in the Timbers stadium. Way beyond anything in this country.

    Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders do an amazing job at creating an atmosphere. the three Canadian Clubs, Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps also do a pretty good job but outside of that, not too much. the games in NJ (the NY RedBulls actually play in New Jersey) are decent but there are only one or two sections of the stadium that have any real atmosphere. the rest is mainly families or mildly curious spectators.

    What's most impressive about the Sounders and the Timbers is that each of them have only been going a few years. Yet with both of them, you'd think they had been around for decades with the different fan traditions they have built up.

    'Timber Joey' is a bit odd though. He chainsaws a piece of wood off of a log every time they score a goal, and then present it to the player after the game.

    Ha ha. 'A bit odd' - nicely put. That should be terrible, but for some reason it sounds great. Once palace hear about it i daresay they'll bring in something similar. Actually, 'Palace Joey' has a good ring to it.

    My son is an under 21 season ticket holder, sits next to me, but can't come because he is away at uni. But that's just the one ticket, and will need an upgrade.

    I'm confused:
    Thought he wanted a ticket (or 3) because he couldn't go to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, as his flight was Sunday morning ? And the wedding is Monday ?

    i arrive on Thursday around noon. the wedding is Friday morning. my flight is Sunday evening (6.30 pm)
