Millwall pre/post game (non-moaning)

Was the only one who thought it was very strange yesterday? I expected to get off the train an meet hoardes of ob, horses an dogs as far as the eye could see, some pockets of wrapped up millwall and charlton singing/shouting about, even half expecting some smashed windows etc after the lions tail fiasco but there was I'd say 30 ob around the shops, no millwall and a similar story after the game when we walked into 2000 odd millwall after the police closed two roads to prevent that very thing happening. I just couldn't get over how weird it was, but I hardly ever post, so I should pipe down.

Agree and they didn't even piss me off that much when the game was going on.
  • It was so different to palace, with palace there's genuine hate. Personally I know too many alright millwall to ever hate them.

I can only imagine you're under 20. Millwall are so much more scummier, nastier than the annoyance that is Palace.

Only because of the threat of what might happen outside the ground. That's just down to the nature of Millwall supporters though.

The attendance yesterday (18k I heard) gives an indication that Palace is on people's minds a lot more when the fixture comes up.

The atmosphere was more poisonous than any game against palace.

You're right that it was strange that there was no revenge for the tailing pulling.

Didn't feel like a derby game at all, a smaller home crowd than usual and the atmosphere wasn't great even the Millwall fans were subdued for large parts.

There were a big group right outside the the north west exit standing there smiling at us as we left - we left about 85 mins.

If these were the merchants of doom that people had told us to expect, they weren't that scary.

I would have thought the spanners were the most happiest (a visit to Wembley and a 2-0 tonking of Charlton) - why would you want to start trouuble?

Hate to say it but the atmosphere at The Den when we played them was 10x that of what we had on Saturday.

A bit like the team on the field, our support seems to absolutely crumble as soon as we let a goal in. It happened against Palace and Millwall even more so than in any of our other 'regular' home games this season.

The only game it hasn't happened in was Cardiff....

    Because thier tail was pulled.
You don't just go around pulling the lions tail, you know..

  • So after all the fuss and worrying about trouble, did anyone actually see any? First time i saw a Millwall fan after the game was back in bexleyheath!

had a beer after in the Newbridge at the Standard and there were a few in there, then saw a couple in a pub in Welling - very strange day all round and not a 'usual' home game
