how can someone get banned for making an innocuous comment like this?? He only made one comment? i suppose we are working on the assumption that CP would accept a new contract..theres nothing i have seen,particularly on this site,that would give him confidence in his employers

In my view he needs to be offered a three year deal right now. He has been hampered this season with lack of resources and looks likely to achieve mid table in the Championship with effectively a division one team. He is adored by the fans and it would seem the players as well. Give him the wherewithal to improve this squad by 25% and I think we can move forward into serious challengers for the playoffs. Having things hanging in the balance is no use to anyone. Sign him up now.

Problem is if they have a serious wedge then they will come for him anyway, if he is their target. I wouldn't underestimate Chris's loyalty to Charlton. If he accepted an offer from elsewhere it would not be a financial choice, in my opinion, either personal or in terms of the resources available to him.0
