I bought my Dad one when he was 60. It is near the ticket office. I stop and look at it every time we go to the ticket office - like today when my Dad forgot his season ticket and we had to buy a replacement. I think I paid £50 for two small bricks (the large ones had all gone by then). The best £50 I've spent, I think.
There's a properly huge profit margin in this. Small units of polished granite are widely available over the counter at prices equivalent to £200/sq m, safe to assume bulk purchases are very significantly cheaper. The 10cm x 20cm works out at £2500/sq m - that leaves plenty for the engraving and gold paint. Don't get too misty-eyed about why the club is offering this. I won't be rushing to aid spanish Tony's cashflow. On an environmental note - can we find out where the granite is sourced and how it is mined? Vast quantities of granite are routinely dynamited out of hillsides with devastating consequences for the environment.

I for one will not be coffing up until I have been assured that naturally sustainable granite has been resourced and that no fluffy bunny wabbits suffered in 1) it's extraction and 2) transportation to SE7.

You are right Stig but you also have to factor in the time and labour for the cutting and engraving, installation of the stone and also the upkeep of the land that the stone is going to sit on to get an accurate price.
At the end of the day the choice lays with the individual
I received my certificate a couple of weeks ago but it made no mention of works starting any time soon. It did say I would be 'informed' when the layout was finalised.
What sounds better at the end forever cafc or cafc forever
i prefer forever charlton if you are having a name/names put on there as it implies that even when they are gone they a still charlton but just sit a bit higher up now
