Does anyone know where I will be able to find extended highlights of both of the play off matches against Ipswich?

I want to bring back wonderful memories :)

Coming to this thread after the title was changed, I was thinking "those shorts are WAY too short" for 1998

They say to get out of this division you have to go to war sometimes and that team certainly did that at Portman Road.
    I loved that team.

Remember that Mauricio Taricco being a cheating little fecker, I absolutely hated him with a vengeance after that game.

Heaney had the last word though didn't he. Never argue with an Irishman when he has had a drink!

I sat - bizarrely - right near the pitch in the east stand for this game. Gave Taricco abuse in Spanish whenever he came near us - he wasn't impressed when I advised him that he was the illegitimate son of a dog. I thought he was going to lamp me one. Hated that prick with a passion.

Best atmosphere I've ever seen at the valley - I thought my heart was going to explode when Newts mullered that shot in.

Without a doubt the best atmosphere I've seen at The Valley, what a day that was.

I remember being up in Great Yarmouth the week before the game. The local radio was full of Ipswich fans ringing up saying how they would thrash us and that we were rubbish. They had beaten us in the league and would do it again blah blah blah. What a load of twats they were!

Both teams had reason to be confident. Both teams' form was superb. The first game we executed a superb game plan hitting them on the break after a superb first time cross by Keith Jones and under pressure from Mark Bright the defender put the ball in. The atmosphere at The Valley that night was the best I've ever known. Singing and dancing for 90 minutes. Sweating like a pig when I left but safe in the knowledge we'd be going to Wembley and we all know what a quiet and boring game that was ! :-)

Cheers for posting those vids abs. I was on my honeymoon at the time and never seen them before. Was back for the 3 games v Leeds though - thought my marriage was not going to see the first month out at Elland Road, but still going strong 26 years on.

Great game, saw teddy Sheringham and his agent is the players bar... I was sure he'd be starting the next season playing for us.

I remember feeling no tension whatsoever, always felt that Charlton was in control of the tie. Had a couple of Ipswich sitting stony faced next to me in the home bit of the South Stand, not a great day for them.

    Nice!

My dad claimed it was an over 18s game so went with a mate instead. I then missed the next game because I was in Germany! Those were the days and I can see them coming back soon which wasn't the case a couple of years ago.

I was in the Jimmy Seed that night.

Best seat in the house for Newts' goal!

What a night! Can remember getting in the ground hearing that Super Clive was not in the team due to injury and was convinced it would not be our night. How wrong could I be. Never known an atmosphere at the Valley before or since. Great times.

Was it the 1st leg at Ipswich where Sasa Ilic made that ridiculous mid-air diving save where instead of palming the ball away he caught it with one glove?!

Rocking and electric. The only two words that one can possibly associate with that day. Absolutely loved it. We had a sense that day, a sense of what was to come!
