chris powell - man love

chris powell has been an incredible presence for us for many years, he was my favourite player as a kid and is easily my favourite person in football... his love for us is amazing and he is the definition of a cool, calm, caring, passiinate and honest human being. i saw a photo of him in todays sun jumping and hugging malky mackay.... how many other managers would be so happy to congragulate another team/manager in such a way!

On the facebook page there is a pic of him hugging and cheering with Malky Mackay last night - congratulating him on their promotion. I didn't realise they were roommates for a while at West Ham and also teammates at Watford.

He looks genuinely chuffed for him as a mate and that is why Mr Powell is truly one of a dying breed as a person - not just a football person.

I don't want us promoted this year as it is much too early. All I want come August is to have Solly and Wiggins at fullback still. Hamer in goal still. Morrison at the club still. and most importantly Mr Powell steering the ship.

Oh - and stability in the boardroom - whether thats a squillionnaire benefactor or just knowledge that we are not pikey broke. Give us another year of consolidation mixed with a genuine flirtation with e play offs next season and then in year 3 an assault on the title.

Chris Powell was jumping Malky MacKay ?

    That's taking it a bit far isn't it ?
  • Was thinking of starting a similar thread after seeing last nights pictures. A truly genuine person, we should be proud to have him as the manager of our club. I just hope people remember this when things don't go so well which is always going to happen sometime. I really hope his tenure is as long and as successful as Alan Curbishleys but if it's not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember the man for who he is and what he has done

I think, with CP in charge, this is our best chance to keep the squad together and push on next season.

I don't feel so bad about previous drunken hugs of SCP !
  • My favourite Charlton player of all time and now proving himself as a manager.
Only met him once and as expected he was a class act.
So much goodwill for him at the club!

Malky [thinks]: "Shit, if this bloke gets any closer I'm going to have to come up with a bloody good excuse for this boner. Think Malky, think!"
  • so so so pleased he's done well for us as a manager, like many others are saying easily my favourite charlton player of all time and (lets hope) he replaces Curbs as favourite manager one day!

For me, the best thing about the picture is that if you look at Chris's face, he is so obviously and genuinely pleased for his friend. He really is a lovely human being.

Very impressive from SCP there. I know he's the manager but I don't think many managers in the game would get every answer 100% like he did!

Shame about the cretin who wrote that comment under the video, I assume and hope it will get removed soon.

Have a look at the guy's profile and you'll see he's been doing it on tonnes of other videos, obviously thinks it's funny.
