Pass for 4th goal was excellent but have seen nothing more to justify a longer stay

how about his pass to Yann for the first goal?

Absolutely yes. Should fit quite well into the budget given he would be free. Andy Hughes isn't fit enough to play a whole season so I'd rotate the two of them.
  • Gower looks okay to me - be happy if we sign him.

First time I saw Gower, everything he touched was shite. Everything.
I'd describe his improvement since as 'modest'.
Comparisons with Stephens are spot on. I'd rather not see either of them anywhere near the 1st team next year.

So the assist for Yann's first goal was "shite".

Nothing like a well informed and articulate assessment of a player. ; - (

Think he's saying he was shite the first time he saw him, not about sat.

    Fair enough, I misread that.

looked very comfortable on the ball, played it simple when he had to but obviously can spot a pass as well hence the 2 goals he assisted on, looked like he got stuck in too, although not the biggest test against Bristol. Would be a good addition to the squad.

No, he said Gower was 'shite' to start with and his improvement since has only been 'modest'. Which, with all due respect, is utter crap.

I'd happily keep Gower and Hughes and hope they both stay fit next season. Stephens can go, whilst we can still get some money for him. TJ must be kicking himself that he turned down Villas offer!

I was indeed talking about the Bolton game. And I'd still describe his improvement since as modest.
I'd agree that his set pieces were a positive contribution - but for me, the odd moment of quality, even if it results in an assist, doesn't outweigh the sheer amount of mis-placed passes.

Like Stephens, there are moments of quality to point at, but I'd say their net-contribution won't improve us for next season.

the only problem with Gower in the middle of the midfield, is that he and Jacko have no pace.
And Jacko is one of the 1st names on the timesheet.

Looking fitter on Saturday, I like his style of play, I say buy him!

Gower hadn't played in ages when we picked him up and since he's got some match fitness under his belt he's been providing some sublime assists. Get him threading through passes for a fit Danny Haynes to run onto and we'll definitely improve our goal tally. I've been impressed by his range of passing, and that's something our squad is lacking without him

like Hughes he also plays the ball along the ground, far better than our usual head tennis, sign him danno

You've got to take him on a free. I very much doubt we've seen the best of someone, who hadn't played all season. He was obviously & expectedly a little overweight & not match fit.

I still find it hard to believe how "supporters" still cannot understand that a player is unlikely to be anywhere near his best, when he's not fit & he ain't gonna be match fit, if he ain't played all season !

Get him in. A full pre season and we will see a completely different MG. he's a quality player.

I think so too. Noone's asking him to play 46 games anyway. No team in the champ can say they couldn't do with his quality in bits and pieces. Imagine Riccy Fuller if he'd Ben able to come on as sub more often instead of start. Get him in

Surely we must grab him quickly as he'll be a sought after player for teams in a similar position to us.

Really. I thought he was excellent yesterday and given that he has been unfit and playing catch up I am sure there is a lot more to offer. When he has the ball he looks confident and is a positive force and when he doesn't he gets into good positions to receive or if the oppo has the ball he covers very well. His type of player is the oil in the engine. Sign him up Chris.

NLA will be his first shirt sponsor .

Mark Gower has left Swansea after his contract was terminated by mutual consent a month early.

The midfielder, 34, had made 145 appearances for the Swans after joining on a free transfer from Southend in 2008, and helped them win promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs in 2011.

But he has rarely figured for Michael Laudrup this season, and finished the campaign on loan at Championship side Charlton.

I'd take him. Has good ball control and a bit of creativity.

Ok, he's no Zidane but then again we are no Real Madrid. He's a free transfer with bags of experience who wants to join us. Having recently been a major part in Swansea's promotion to the Premiership, I think its a little arrogant for some to think we're automatically above his level.

Agreed, assuming his wages aren't ridiculous then i think he would be a good signing.

If the money situation is to be believed (again) then no, we are not above him.

Why would he have his contract terminated a month early - only if he was imminently poised to sign a new contract with another club?

Before he left very early moves to open discussions between the 2 parties took place

I hope he joins permanent as I feel he will improve us as a squad
