Thanks RZA. 51 years old and never booked a flight before..........

As long is the airport code is (GIB) in brackets then you have the right one :)

    There's only one airport.
The Rock hotel is excellent. The final scenes of Ice cold in Alex were filmed in the bar.

Easyjet are fine - much better than the slimebags called Ryanair. (then again, Ryanair dont fly there , i dont think)

Easyjet are alright, nothing special, just another low cost carrier but they do the job fine. Don't expect much legroom though and keep your bag as small as possible.

One of the things about the Rock Hotel is that its quite a schlep from the ground - not easily walkable.

Have a look at Mygibraltar. co .uk for some ideas. The Elliot looks ok.

The History Channels `Most extreme airports' ranks Gibraltar 5th.
The take off and landing are quite interesting.

Will be staying at the Asur. We have been there before and it's decent - good breakfast. Just a walk through the border and accross the runway to get to the stadium.

Yes, when i was there last year they had fog which apparently is very unusual in Gib. We were on the boat in the bay in front of the airport when we suddenly heard a Jets engines start screaming - looked up and saw a BA plane through the fog abort landing and decide that Malaga was a better option !

    yep.
the runway is very short, it's like being fired out of a gun. sniggers.

Ah, the Cape Town cable car is vastly better than the Gib one - and about 50 years younger too. The only problem i had with the CT one was at the last minute you go through a huge ravine - dont look down !

Then you don't want to go on the Senntosa-Singapore cable car then...

Surprised you're going MOG. I know it's none of my business, but you have been posting stuff on here for a long time, saying how skint you are.

Interesting photo. There's not much room for pilot error at either end of the runway - and a road crosses it about half way along. Could be hazardous!

I have landed there as a passenger hundreds of times. The only mishap I can recall was a Monarch A320 that landed the nose-wheel too heavily and damaged the hydraulics - this was 12+ years ago.
Although about 20+ years ago a plane did slightly overshoot - no injuries.

Incidents at Gib airport are surprisingly rare.

The Elliot hotel is better than the Rock (IMO).

Now booked the Assur hotel, staying Monday to Friday. Anyone up for a beer in Gib before the game? Suggest The Lord Nelson in Casemates Square. Ten minute walk to the stadium...

St. Mirren game will be at the Hotel where the team are staying. KO at 11AM. Spectators will be able to go and watch.

That's all the info I have, I am sure the OS will have more news soon.
