Probably NLAs scoop more than anyone else.

Really pleased he's signed. I think he (and we) will benefit from a full pre-season and play a big part for us next season.

I'd actually love us to keep Dale and let him work alongside and learn from Mark. There's a very good player in Dale and I'd hate us to lose the opportunity for him to prove that consistently for us. Given his age, Mark is understandably a shorter-term signing. Hope we can afford to keep Dale too for the future.

Agree - I really hope we do keep Dale as whatever anyone thinks about Gower, we would all agree he is a short term option.

    Good signing.

In terms of Dale, if someone offers money then id hope we take it. Thats not to mean i dont rate Stephens, but id rather take the cash and perhaps invest it on another position.

Very happy with this. We've kept hold of our midfield and back 5 from last season and that can only be a good thing. Now to sort out some forwards or Yann is going to get lonely...

Good news....means we should never have to see the likes of Frimpong,Eggert,Dervite (in midfield). Hopefully he can still play on the right as that would give us another option
  • Bit off topic, sorry, but do players contracts usually run out on 1st June or end of June, interesting to know given no announcements on the youngsters yet.

Don't think we can afford much better and I also don't think we saw the best of him. Think he'll be both more reliable and creative than Stephens.

Maybe true, but I don't think he's got the possibility of goals in him like Stephens has. Keeps the pressure on Jacko to deliver from midfield, unless Pritchard can step up?????

Well Stephens was hardly prolific either, as he rarely gets into the box (whether from instruction, instinct or lack of fitness)

Yes I don't think we need to worry about how to replace Dale's goals, 2 in 29 games last season.

Essential signing to bolster weak midfield. Sound bit of business from Saint Chris.

It's good that the management team have had a long first hand look at Gower too. Very shrewd signing and is a sign that we might be altering our style of play a bit.

Was far from impressed whilst on loan but hopefully we will see a completely different player now he has joined on a permanent basis will withhold my opinion until the first 10 games of season

I think this is good news. He's been there, done that. Can only help. 1 yr - that's all that's needed for the Premiership push :-)

You must have been watching different games to me I guess. I thought he looked good. His passing and his vision were better than anyone else we have in midfield, even if he is not going to be the best tackler in the world.

Just my view, but I will be surprised of you have not changed your view after ten games.
  • What the best bit about this is for me is that we will get to see a fully fit mark which we only got to see from the boro away game

Mark imo when fit will be one if the most consistant and most accurate passers in the league i reckon he will have a real high completion record and will be a real major piece of the jigsaw SCP wants to build

Gower is first and foremost a good footballer. Having him in the team will make us play through midfield rather than over or around it. This will make us a better side. Very happy with this signing.
