Maidstone UTD vs Charlton XI - Evina, Euell and Nathan Jones in squad. #barebones

Thought we passed the ball fairly well but once we got closer to the Maidstone goal we too often looked for the hopeful ball over the top. Each time it was headed away or the pass was overhit.

Didn't get the impression any of the three trialists improved on what we have. Of the two in midfield Fenwick looked fairly poor, Munns a bit better. McCormack played right back and looked ordinary.

Up front Azeez and Sho-Silva obviously cause a few problems with their pace, I hope they'll both get a run of games out on loan. They both looked to make a run for the balls over the top, too similar at times when you can sometimes do with a striker dropping deep or holding his position.

Feely, Lennon and Gomez looked pretty comfortable, it'll be interesting to see how they all develop in the next few years.

No one looked like they'd be pushing for a first team place just yet. That said the conditions were very different, it was a very hot day and played on a 3G pitch.

Hmmm. I was there, and don't think we were quite as bad as these highlights indicate. Still, I don't like all those balls flashing across our six-yard box - and the Stones really should've had another pen for handball. Pitch is going a bit bald - and it's plastic.
