McGurk was among quite a few trialists at blues that Clark wanted to sign but was suddenly told there was no money to offer them a deal.

@CAFCofficial: Close! Charlton's best passage of play so far results in Green cross, but Cook can't get a good enough connection from 6 yards (OG) #cafc

Sounds like some of our transfer dealings this summer !

@CAFCofficial: GOAL! Billy Bricknell with a fine strike from the edge of the 'D'. Pope had no chance. 0-1 Ebbsfleet. 36mins(OG) #cafc

Let's hope we don't get many injuries/suspensions this season.

Paxman was at Southend last year.

Munns has played a few games for the academy thus season. Looks a decent player, but makes Solly look like a giant! Believe he was on the Spuds books.

Munns was the best trialist v Maidstone, though I wasn't convinced he was a great deal better than Jordan, Poyet or Muldoon.

GOAL! 0-2 Ebbsfleet. A superb individual effort from full-back Joe Howe, beating two players before striking left-footed. 41mins(OG)

Looking at the team we have out and the fact that we are playing a part time side who are at least a week behind in their pre-season preparations and now in the Conference South this is pretty woeful.

Sign him up! Play him alongside Yann.

As a matter of interest, now Jones has gone, who is managing this team?

Report from the game. Church ok, McGurk really poor - both look a million miles from match fit.

Considering the defence that we have out there this is pretty poor.

Yeah, but, according to their web site, Ebbsfleet can afford to pay contractors to paint their ground. We have to rely on volunteers. Maybe we'll be asking for volunteers to be strikers too?

McGurk should be match fit to some standard considering he played in two pre season friendlies for Brum.

Nah he is better coming from behind.

  • Full time. A productive weekend.

Just back from the game. A very lackluster first half, which suprised me considering the strengh of the starting line-up. Second half was better, probably due to more academy players who know each others games more. Wood looked quite solid at the back. Wasn't too impressed with Church.

A deserved win for the fleet. Great run and finish from their RB to score their second.

McGurk was absolutely terrible. Church ok but off the pace, hollands did well.

We looked better when Pigott and poyet came on.

Hopefully we'll see Pigott start in the cup game.

I'd like to see him start against Boro as well to be honest (we will play one up top (Yann) at Bournemouth).
