There will be more than a few Lifers there so please post photos, anecdotes, etc here for those that can't make it.
As this is a fundraiser for the Charlton Athletic museum I'll be "working" with CAFC999 to get various bits and pieces signed so expect to see some of these on here sometime soon.
See anyone who got a ticket there.

Blimers !
Saw this new discussion & thought I must have overslept !1 -
What time does it start , & is it a suit and tie event?0
-
Lounge suit. Doors open at 5.00. Event proper starts at 6.10 but would advise you there much earlier to take up seat, ask questions etc0
-
Thanks Henry, was thinking of going last minute , might have to decide against it as I've just taken the missus into A and E.0

Just got home from a great evening. Jim Davidson was in fine form as were the players. Decent food and a very decent evening.
Good value for money too imo1 -
The new owner seems a nice guy and I'm not just saying that because he made a big donation to the Museum.
Excellent night, JD was a good host, players were on good form with stories etc and stayed to sign loads of stuff and have photos done etc.
Powell (Chris) got fantastic support from the fans there and Richard Murray got a standing ovation.
More tales tomorrow but well done to Ian, jean and Ben K.
From a museum POV raised over 6k so very happy1 -

Good! Was he fairly upbeat?0

Just in, a very well hosted night and JD was excellent value in keeping things moving along. Took a premiership watching non addick who commented on the bond between ex players and supporters he had not seen the likes of at bigger clubs.
Lots of money raised for the museum and other charities so well done to all who helped arrange it.
I would love to listen further to Bob Bolder and Dean Kiely who both stole the show when answering question.

Ok Henry, I'll bite. Was it in US Dollars, Euros, Roubles or UAE Dhirams?Henry Irving said:The new owner seems a nice guy and I'm not just saying that because he made a big donation to the Museum.

Chris was there at the top table with some other legends and was very proud of his achievements with Charlton so far, and looking forward to even more great times in the future. Well done to Jim Davidson (mentioned how he has seen some of the nasty comments about himself on the forum) and BDL for the Q & A session. Lots of money raised for good causes. Congratulations to the organisers. Good to see a few Lifers there including Fanny and Henry.0

Luncheon vouchers. : - )
No one under 40 will get that joke.
No new owner there of course although JD got a big laugh when auctioning tickets to watch a game with the directors "whoever they will be".2 -

A night of enormous pride in our club, and one that should have impressed the new owner considerably (Henry, perhaps you can tell us when the time is right).
JD was great fun and only very rarely a bit off-colour - he was clearly under control. His affection for CAFC and SCP are unbounded, and there were some nice moments when he was teasing Keith Peacock.
The players were excellent. They all seemed genuinely delighted to be there, not just turning up. Best story - Dean Kiely and the Irish WC 2002 - "Roy Keane a world-class player and an economy-class person". Great respect and warmth shown to Rufus and the absent Super Clive and Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeburn. Not sure it was necessary for Darren Pitcher's name to bring out a few boos.
A fine dinner and good service. A pretty special night all round, and again, it is to be hoped that the new bosses will now know, if they didn't before, what a special club they have got on their hands.

What a brilliant night. Jim D actually made it a great night and had everyone chuckling. There was a video that lasted about 20 mins of the last 21 years. Made you emotional.
I'll write more tomorrow but it was so lovely to chat at the end to the players.2 -

Will speak to Ben K about releasing the Vid in one format or another.
Was great.
