Easy The Pogues-Fairytale of New York

Could you explain why? And also what has it got to do with Christmas?

The first line begins with: "it was Christmas eve"...

And that genuinely was not meant to be pedantic.

"You scumbag, you maggot, You cheap lousy faggot, Happy Christmas your arse, I pray God it's our last". Nothing personal ;-)

Sorry I'll try and be clearer- WHAT HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS?

Mentioning the word Christams once or twice hardly ties it in with the greatest story ever told.

Love Christmas songs. Have 627 on a play list. Sad but true so choosing 1 too difficult so top 3 are.

    Kate Rusby. Sweet Bells
    Jewel. Joy to the world
    Nat King Cole Christmas Song.
  • Christmas Dream - Perry Como
  • Fairytale of New York has become a Christmas song whether you like it or not @Riviera
Much in the same way that Can you send the cavalry by Jonah Louie has.

It is a song set a Christmas hence a Christmas song. Hope that clears it up for you.

Next, Valley Floyd Road not a charlton song just because it mentions our ground.

  • Phil Spector's Christmas Album, recorded in 1963 with The Crystals, The Ronettes, Darlene Love etc. Magical then and still gives me goose bumps 50 years later.
  • I hate to say it but I loved rock and rolling Christmas, I wish someone would do another version of it because I can't play it anymore
